just check previous lap times from previous races , 2 months ago with my 710(with a novarossi motor) i ran 27 laps at 10:36 this past weekend i ran with my fw-05r (ostr motor)28 laps at 10:07.54 so from those figures i say that the fw-05r out of the box is very good

I say you ought to put the Nova in the Kyosho.. (good job,BTW..)

Default Diffs Shimming

guys, i know i've seen it here somewhere. But can anyone suggest the best number of sims i should use on the diffs for the fw05r. Read something before that the 2 sides shimming is not even supposed to be balance that one side needs more shim than the other. Cannnot place which page i saw it...anyone? Thanx...will be building my car soon...

There is no set figure.

You need to set it so there is almost zero slop but not too tight as it will jam up, also use a good grease on them.
(I use the Tamiya Ceramic grease)

Just back from the track running the FW-05M in a comp.

I get 18 laps for the first time in 309.84 and took .7 secs off of my best lap time. 16.29

I won the a final but david Hall (sponsored) lost 2nd gear half way through. We were within 3 secs of the heat times

It goes like a rocket!!!
