I used to run a 22/50 1st gear and pulled a good few rev before changing up, but now the 1st gear is longer and I can change up at much lower revs and appear to get less bogging down effect, but once it hits 2nd it just goes.
Performance wise I would greatly recommened the Centre conversion, just have to wait a while to check the wear rate.

This is the MTX-3 rear hubs on the FW-05M!

The dogbones need to be a bit longer but i put an o ring in the diff cup and the axle to centre it.

You can see that if you roll the car wheel stays at the same angle all the time.

I havent set the toe in or camber right yet

Cheers

You can use the innerbearing but need the Mugen outer bearing. I used the wide tyre axle but found this to be 210mm wide. I will change it for the normal one.

You will also need the pivot balls and the end caps. I also fitted the spacers at the top link connection (small silver washers in pic)

The centre conversion goes on today!! then down to the track for a test!!

Default Set-Up Board

Hi guys, do i really need a set-up board when building the car? Is there a maker for full set up system that caters to 1/8th and 1/10th? Or what is really necessary when building the car? I got the ride height gauge and the camber gauge. Is there anyting else I need? Thanx in advance.

You don't need anything but your life will be so much easier if you have the set up equipment.
A sheet of glass can be used instead of a proper board.
The Hudy guages can become scratched and hard to read in poor light, I sold mine and got some alloy ones.
You may want to look at a 'Tweak Station' as well so you know your car actually sits flat on the road under its own weight.
I don't use my ride height guages as I tend to go by look and feel.

Just back from the car park!!. I put the 20/51 first and the 25/46 second. the lowest gearing for the conversion. The carpark had zero grip so it wasnt a good test. Its about 200ft long but i didnt have enough room to get into 2nd for more than a brief moment.

I changed from 16% to 25% nitro and the car rockets off off the line!

I will try it at the track nxt week. I suspect the lowest gear is still slightly too tall for our track.

We shall see
