Hello Guys,

Long time....

Iam still looking to sell my R40's. I would just keep them but there is so much invested I would rather see someone find some good use out of them.

My main rig was a just recently upgraded hara edition. Everything on it is built from the use of this thread mainly and tweaked to perfection.

The car was amazing and could hang with all the current competition. I had a great time with it but just havent been into r/c as much and would be a shame to keep it and turn it into a beater. You can probably do a search on my username and will see threads where I had posted it for sale with all the wonderful gear on the car.

It needs to go and Im looking to sell it this week. I have a ton of spares , unused parts nib and so forth. Just chat with me and show me your interested and Ill get you a deal like no other!

Remember this is a top of the game R40 , I moderated here and also helped pursue perfection on the r40 in this thread. It will blow your socks off the amount of money and time and care put into this car. Its maintenance was perfect. I would drive it today no problems , just dont have time to race anymore with my current job.

Please contact me and ask around I have many references that can tell you what kinda hours I put into this vehicle: research , ordering parts overseas , finding rare parts and tuning. Ive also got boxes of tires , spare motors , servos , rx's , remotes , gas , batteries and more...just sitting wasting space and begging for use. Let me know.

Also whats up to all my old fellow R40 brethern , good to see this thread still maintains itself on the first page of RCTECH!!!

AI,

Long time man. Sorry to hear you don't have the time for RC. I was in the same boat the last 3 or 4 years. Been finally able to race 1 or 2 times a month this year. Maybe when you have more time, HB will have a new nitro touring car. You got PM

in a word YES! Put the car in the hands of a capable driver and it will do well put the car in the hands of a novice and it will hold up better to the abuse but it won't win anything. same can be said for any of the other cars out there a pro level driver could probably win driving a brick on steel pins and make it look smooth as silk while doing it.

How to cure the diff oil leaking problems on R40? My diffs leaking like cheap diaper no matter how well I assemble them.

The diffs will leak no matter what. What I did to slow that down is to use RTV Sensor safe silicone ( red or blue) around the edges. Do not overtorque the screws.

easiest way to stop the diffs from leaking is to not fill them in the first place, Yea I know not what you wanted to hear but I've tried several different gaskets and it still leaks from the outdrives everytime. tried new Orings and new diff cases never stopped it for long.

Only thing that worked for me was to only fill the diffs about 1/3 of the way instead of half or more. but it will still leak eventually.

You can also go with the solid front spool. Just use the plug. (hint, buy the one for the savage, lots cheaper and easy to find)

It looks like this

http://cgi.ebay.com/HPI-SAVAGE-X-SS-...2em118Q2el1247

Just replace the gears in the diff with this plug and you got a spool or solid axle. It will work in the front or rear diffs. Works killer on tighter tracks. And no more leaky diff.

Oh, and only use it in the front diff.
