Okay, then I'll need a bit more information to start with. What kind of surface will you be running on? Foam or rubber tire? Any hop ups on the car? I am also assuming that you will be racing at the club level.

Just curious, did you race the fusion? If so, what made you decide on the RS4-3 platform as your next step?

Yes I did race the fusion. I changed because someone wanted to buy it at a great deal for me. Plus parts are hard to find here for the fusion. And the car is bone stock. I am planing on upgrading it though. And I plan on useing jaco pro foam 2 tires.

There is no rs4 3 thread so this seems like a good place to post. Do u have a problem with it?

Yeah. Please search up old threads or start a new rs4-3 thread. The title of this thread is what should be spoken about , not how a fusion 21 and a rs4-3 compare.

i know the r40 is meant for the race track.. but would it be wise to slap some rubber on it and run it around the front of my house or a parking lot once in awhile? since i cant see myself always going to the track...

I have done that myself a few times and I don't think there's anything wrong with it. Some of the neighbors brought out there RC cars too (tmaxx and some other bashing type stuff) and we had a great time making lots of noise. I also use the time to get my 2 speed shifting where I wanted.

Got some stuff comin in for my R40 soon. I'm trying to make the race for the 23rd. Unfortunately the engine has to wait though that's fine.

Hey guys. Got some updates on my new car setup. Going to stick with the plastic arms on this one since I figure itll work better for the low grip track im on anyway.

Heres the setup:

HPI R40 US Hara Edition
Team Orion Wasp Rev .12
Skyline VR12 Plus Pipe
One Piece HeatSink Engine Mounts
Mugen MTX-3 Clutch System w/ yellow disc
Kawahara Dog Bones
Kawahara .8 2speed and shaft (if its lighter)
3Racing CF Steering Plate
3Racing CF Lower Suspension Mounts
3Racing Ti Pillow Balls (for mugen mtx-3)
HPI Titanium Screw Kit (sadly doesnt come in the kit)
HPI Pro4 Titanium Turnbuckles for steering / toe links.
HPI V2 Shocks w/ exel ti shafts
Lunsford Titanium Rear Toe Rods
Acer PolySeal Bearings
2 X Futaba 9550 or 2 X Futaba 9451 servos
Micro Spektrum RX
AAA Sanyo 1000mah pack

Its going to be my half shelf queen / state race r40 since its got the overpowered motor. But its going to look beautiful. Should be built by next month. Also will have some updates on my 2004 to 2005/Hara upgrade w/ photos and after race thoughts.

I had a bit of an accident and damaged the cf sub plate on my 2005 kit (part 73090B, where rear shocks connect to). The previous kits did not have this part.

Will the car still handle ok if I remove them both? I think the rear shock shaft for 2005 kit may be shorter than the previous kits. If it is, it might give me problems when changing the ride height.

What do you guys think?

It will make the car handle differently. Only way to know is try it and see if you like it.
