Got my hara parts in today. Oh yes they look nice. Ill be weighing them tonight using them next month.

I also picked up the aluminum middle mount setup. Has anyone tried these? Cant wait , also got a lot more parts that im retrofitting onto the car.

Will let you guy know how that goes.

Interesting. I for some reason figured the new hara super chassis would be about the same weight as the old super chassis.

Weighed it and it weighs 108G (hara05) VS 92G (super chassis / 04)

Im guessing most of the new weight loss then is from just the removal of the battery box and rx box. Also just got some lightweight digital servos on the car. Dropped 15g from it , so now im at 1635G. Woohoo.

The weight gain is understandable since there is no cutout in the middle for the battery cover. I guess that piece of alum. weighs 16 grams

Yeah , I guess I figured HPI would do some more cutouts in the chassis elsewhere to compensate. I was expecting a few grams but I guess not that much.

I held b.lafrances 05 and it was pretty lightweight compared to my kit which had quite a few lw parts on it over the 05. Guess well see once they go on. I did like the rx box though , going to miss that from the 04. But otherwise kinda wonder how its so much lighter.

I will be next month. But all my parts are already here.

You need upper deck , chassis , gas tank and servo mounts.

This will total 170 from hpi-racing direct , the only place I know of who carries the parts.

Otherwise its about 419 for the hara kit in the us and 360 for the 05 kit from asia , plus shipment.

I have way to much on my 04 to do another car so im sticking with the 04 and just upgrading it.

Horizonhobby.com has all the parts needed. I didn't use the deck b/c I want to keep a slight right side weight bias b/c the quickest turns on US tracks are rights. The tank seems to be the biggest difference, and some light modification of the old deck was required to get the new tank to fit.

I never check there. Good to know though. Too bad they seem to all be out of stock at horizon and saying till june. Looks like its a good bit cheaper too, not the full retail hpi charges for who knows why.

The only thing I could find at horizon was the Hara top deck. Do I need to call instead?

There site is pretty accurate about stock, theres nothing really there. Also you need to search by part #'s to find it. I think hpi is being stingy. As well no one seems to have in stock the competition shocks for quite some time.
