Racer, use the search engine. There have been several previous threads and posts on that engine already.

Has anyone else had the problem of the front upper bulkhead snapping at the shock tower mounting tabs? also the aluminum shock towers bent (marginally, though..)!

So how do the HPI tires compare to Nitro shoes and GRPs?

I didnt hit anything.

My friend was on the controls, and after a near side-by-side runover with a bone stock t-maxx, he made a U-turn back and the t-maxx ran over my R40 at about.. 15 mph.. approximately though, just my sense

im not too upset, i have a new upper bulkhead, body mount posts, and waiting on the alu. shock towers, although im tyring to buy the CF front shock tower on eBay (1 BEING SOLD), but the seller doesnt support e-Check naitively.

Thats a good question about the R40 foams. I too would like to know how they stack up to Fasttires, Nitroshoes, or Orion foams.

The HPI tires look to be basically Fasttires remarketed and repackaged under the HPI name. I have a MTX3 and put the tires side by side, did the comparison test, etc, etc, and came to that summation. I ran them on my MTX2 at the club race yesterday and they worked just as well as my Nitro Shoes, Ellegis, and Fasttires.

Another thing to look at when comparing foam tires are the rims. Doesn't HPI pro foams come on spoke wheels? The Fasttires I have are on solid rims which I prefer. I think the solid rims are more durable,,, although I have cracked them too.

All the Fastires I've ever seen have been on multi-spoke wheels. I've never seen them on dish(solid) rims.

Personally, I prefer the multi-spoke rims. I've found that many of them are just as firm and durable as the dish rims.

Default Help finding a part

Have you guys seen the aluminum hex adapters for the wheels? I think they are generic to all sedans, but I have not found any. I am looking for the aluminum clamp style for the R40. If someone could point me to a website that sells these? Thanks

PS: Hara run's the same type of hex adapters
