for racing the savage I run mainly at barnstromers in chester ny. I went up to nanuet this past sunday for a race the brukner hobbies was hosting small teqnical track small jumps lots of turns and no straight away. and I also bash out at FBF about a mile away from where the race track is there are some dunes that we bash our trucks on.

as for radio i'm sticking with my XS3 since most of the hard core guys have all switched to DSM just about leaves the entire freq. board open for those of us that still have yet to make the switch. come to think of it I don't think I've had a freq. conflit all season.

This is like asking the Ferrari owners if they think it worths it to write a half-a-million check and have to wait 3 months for the car to get off the freight.

I'd say most definately It would be able to hang with any of the Mugs or Serps.

I just walk around the house all day staring at it . Im probably going to make a few replicas of his bodies. There are many different versions of it, I chose this one as its what was actually on the R40. If the bodies were the same it would have been even closer. I also selected the stratus 3.1 as I hear it handles amazing.
Very nice paintjob. The 3.1 is a great body, very stable. If you are running a shorter track you probably would have better luck with the Mazda 6.

Racing takes a lot out of the car and driver ... OOOH but it is great fun What Diff. oils are you guys running? (Brand and weight...) I run on a fairly tight track with my R40 which is also quite bumpy and I run 50000 Protech Diff. oil in the front and 30000 Protech, (half full) in the rear diff. I just managed to drop my laps by 0.6 seconds and I am very happy Also, what kind of shocks and shock oils you guys using on your R40s?? I forget what brand I am using but it is 40W rear which is softer than the stock oil it comes with; I use yellow Ho-Bao springs. In front I use 50W oil and the blue HPI springs. My car needs a little bit more tweaking but really hangs with the Mugens and Serpents... I am guessing that the Hara edition will be great.

I'm pretty much close to the stock setup. All I did really was shockpreload, droop settings, and castor setting. Those are the only things I really touched as well as add a few upgrades. All that I'd be getting last is the LW chassis, but before that a new radio would be nice. Now that I have a real car I'd like to save up some more $$ as I'm not working too much now since business is slow. I may end up having to go find a new job because of this. However it's all good. Nothing like more $$. Now I have the CD3 Pro to sell, MGT, and TL01. The R40 and MRX4 stays.

BTW for diffs I'm using the kit setup and the car handles like a dream.

Any of the engines posted the your 3 or 5 port engine thread will work in the R40. A good engine for one chassis will be a good engine for all.
