The only thing the kit doesn't include are the TI screws. Still, you end up saving a lot of money.

ah, I though the price I've seen was to good to be true lol. I skimmed through the list of what you get and read R40 titanium screw set (#A368) and thought damn thats 60+ dollars already.
just checked again properly this time after your post and now it reads "* R40 titanium screw set (#A368) it is not included in conversion set." doh
but yeah like you say, you still save alot

get the front and rear shock towers......follow the build procedure in the book...set the car up in a "standard mode".......5.5 mm rear height,5 mm front...3 degrees toe rear,1 degree toe out front.....2 degrees camber front,3 rear........put the 4 gear conversion in the back diff if you have a good traction track..if not, just use the grease that came with the kit...

Yeah, the only reason you would want the cf shock towers is so you can use the setup sheet everyone else uses or posts, well that and they are lighter weight. I havent seen a standard one yet. It also gives you more shock stroke in the rear by including an extra piece to attach to the lower arm.

Reason why it should be pretty much #1 on everyones list. So you can use the good setups.

Default RCModel in Hong Kong.......

I received a HPI R40 2004 kit from RCModel that had the factory seal cut opened. As soon as I saw that I new there would be problems. Unfortunely, I was right. NO Super chassis! and so far a plastic parts tree missing. I am really pissed I thought I would let you guys know just in case anyone else plans on ordering from these guys. You should demand in the remarks of your order that the kit be factory sealed just as it should be!!!!
I'll keep you updated as to weather they fix the problem.

Here is my letter to RCMODEL:

Order #RC-108322

I just received my package from the post office. It is in good shape and unopened. However, my HPI R40 2004 kit factory seal had been cut open. And now I am missing parts! This is no joke. I am missing the CHASSIS and so far plastic parts tree HPI 73479 This is completely unacceptable!!!!!! Why in the world would you send me a opened kit. I am extremely dissappointed with your store. I expect a chassis (HPI 73924 light weight super chassis) and HPI 73479 to be delived overnight / 2day as soon as you read this. I will continue to build the kit and will update you if I have any more missing parts.

hum thats pretty unlucky dude, I've know of shops opening boxes to get a certain part that they dont currently have in stock and then replace it at a later date. perhaps this is most likely the case, I mean it would be a bit silly to think the purchaser wouldnt miss the most costly component in the kit! right??
I've delt with rcmodel b4, with no problems but I must admit they have communication issues, quite a few emails relating to my present orders went un answered.

One of the reason why I refuse to order overseas and such other places. I buy my cars in the LHS so I can to look in the box.

Default missing parts

I just received email from RCModel / Terence Lam. He said that the supplier sent him the kit with the seal broken and he forgot to check it before it left the store. He said he would get the replacement parts right out. I'm glad it's getting taken care off without any problems.

my hpi under steers at high speed? and i still cant get it into second gear.
the smaller gear does not free spin? i did the adjustment of 5 turns out on springs.
but it looks like the larger gear purple housing is rubbing on the inside or the other housing were the 2 speed clutch runs so it doesnt spin free.
sorry if my explaniation is hard to under stand.

Tighten the 2-speed screws until it's flush so the second spur rotates freely. try that.

If they had more brands of 235mm classes now and it got popular again, sure I'd give it a run. Otherwise, I have my 8th onroad to run right now.
