You kept yours longer than most of those guys out there did. Its amazing how there are almost none of them left even though they supposedly have the drivetrain to have!

As for why I'm switching from my Reflex, just take a look at my signature under my post...the Yokomo SD settled me down with the TC's...

...so instead, just stick a "nitro" infront on the TC's in my signature!

The R40 does comes with 5000wt diff grease but it is much thicker than it sounds (at least mine was). I thought I wasn't going to get it out of the bottle. When I compare it to some 5000wt OFNA diff grease I had, it was like night and day, the OFNA was much thinner. So I put the OFNA 5000wt in the rear and the R40 grease in the front. Seems to work for me.

Sounds like the general feeling is that there should be something in the rear diff. That sound right to me as well.

i know this is not saying much now a days.. but the R40 is definately more solid and stable than my old MTX-2.

i'll report more on the feel and observations of the car after i can get some track time on it.

try changing a belt on a v1r or a reflex.......Esp. after you've changed a belt on the r40 first....

You'll see how much the r40 is a copy.....NOT!

Hey!!

I think your'e right.

The R40 has four tires, a gas tank and a two speed tranny too like the VoneR and the Reflex.

You would think HPI would design something ORIGINAL like the Reflex.............

Way to go smartypants!

Guys,

Let not start this "the car is a copy of that car" junk again. All of the cars are going to look similar due to limited space to design engine placement and drivetrain. Each car has qualities that fit each of our driving styles and lets leave it at that!!

Default Personal transponder placement

Here are the pics for how I mounted my personal transponder in my R40.

The Reflex I can agree with you on...but the R40??? I've looked at the instructions and the CAD drawings for the R40, and I can't find much resemblance between it and my Reflex(which as you so kindly noted, is a copy of the V-One R)

After listing to some of these guys, I start to wonder is there any car that isn't a copy of the V-One R.

Ask yourself this, what is the V-One R a copy of? Cause I know you don't believe its all 'original'.
