Im in there somewhere.

Also does anyone find it odd that everyone there is almost the exact same height (look at our heads...almost kinda spooky). All we need are some storm trooper suites and you got yourself the perfect clone army!

-- BTW that is where I race....not too bad of a surface for a parkinglot. Then they use VHT on it.

AI - What are the infield "boards" made of? Was it easy to set-up? Costs?

Hey hark. You've got the hook up on the cheap air filters right? If I sent you the money for them and shipping could you get me some?

Im not fully sure but I can find out for you. They looked like pvc , just smaller. Now that you mention it they are kinda weird, cause some are rounded nicely.

Havent tried yet but im sure it will nova has the biggest carbs.

It also comes with a zip tie , so it zip ties and tightens to any carb but it seemed to fit pretty well. I would figure it wouldnt fit the STS as well as the nova is probably bigger.

But it fits my nova well.

NXS- It's the same as those Mc Coy and Ellegi airfilters. It wasnt a hook up, but it's his brand of airfilters where you get two in a pack for $6 bucks (or $7 I think it was). Works on all .12s, .15s and .21 engines.

Thanks Hark and Rapid Roy, the car was working sweet yesterday and I managed to take A main victory after a few timely mechanical failures from the pole man and 2nd place guy.

Here are some of the adjustements I made for the two finals: went from 2-> 3 deg rear toe in, 50 -> 40 shock oil, removed rear sway bar and fr sway bar mounted 30deg from horizontal initially. The track has a majority of left handers so I added .5 deg camber on right tires. I didn't manage to get rid of my rear end oversteer entirely but once I was in a race tempo it wasn't an issue. (seeing as how I had no brakes left after 2 min anyway it rather helped me then hindered me - pls HPI an effort on this !)

I noticed that everyone other then me was running a solid front axle, something I ll have to try next round (I was running 50 front diff oil) seeing how my car was the least incisive in on throttle steering. Speaking to some of the pro drivers (HPI and Serpent )I noticed that the fr one way is lossing a lot of popularity in favour of running a solid fr axle....

Harry - Haven't had the chance to run my 710 yet, bought it a couple weeks ago and I am supposed to be revising for exams, so not sure what I'll do. I am very happy with the r40 and frankly still don't know it well enough- or drive well enough - to answer your question. What I do know is that in its 2004 configuration its a RELIABLE and SOLID car! I haven't broken anything in three races and it wasn't for lack of trying. (more then I can say about the 710s around me)

However the 710 is a gem in its conception: with the same mill its quicker and more sensitive to setup changes (I guess thats a plus and a negative-depends how friendly you are with the tracks outer perimeters). What really attracts me to the 710 is the availability of endless setup info with the kit and moreover, all over the net. 710 parts and the actual car itself are cheaper here then for the r40.

It is NOT my intention to remake R40 v 710 episode 36878 and I ll stress the fact that this is only MY personal opinion WITHOUT HAVING ACTUALLY DRIVEN THE CAR. I'll try both and see which one suits me better and choose the one i'm consistently faster with.

You also own both cars and still drive the r40 (primarily?), so I figure you can't really go wrong either way. Having owned both for a while, whats your take on this ?
