Thanks you guys!!!Well I know it's not the perfect foating rear mount, I'm still waiting on the one I ordered from rcmat, it's for the Kyosho V one RRR, but I guess I can see how it works and make one for the R-40.

RapidRoy- I don't understand this part of your message... By connecting the body post directly to the rear uprights, you bind up the rear suspension.Yesterday 11:59 PM

I thought that the importance of the floating rear mount was to put the downforce on the tires rather than on the suspension??? well I guess I;ll give a try and see how mycar handles....

http://www.modelsport.co.uk/?CallFun...n&ItemID=15441

Needless to say, one should be arriving on my door by saturday, so between now and then ive got to go hop-up shopping to get this baby going and around another 100 to spend.

What do you recommend?

Basically when comparing english and american prices, 'money' value isnt the same. If something costs $100 in america you can bet on it being sold for 100 in the uk, this is the trend for any product!

So you could say that its like buying an R40 for $99 in america...Think about that lol!!!

(Cant stop smiling!)

Yeah the american dollar is weak right now. So things almost everywhere else are worth more. But its still way less.

Tower has them listed for $240.

You still need to get the engine, header and tuned pipe, RX battery pack, starter box, bodyshell, servos and a TX. If you need a list of lightweight options to make your ride faster, let me know

OS .12tz turbo pilotshaft engine
OS header for .12
OS tuned pipe or RD logics II
Radio... choose a good one, not a cheap one
servos can be fast, but not necessarily digital
battery pack for the car... HPI flat RX pack
later...

All equipment will me loaned from my now shelved 4 tec, so i have most things covered.

Im more in need or particular parts which should be changerd right out for stronger/lighter parts if necessary.

Are there any major problem areas in the kit that need to be ironed out, or are there and mods that should be done to make the car more competative?

Many thanks

Chris

Here is a pic of what it weighs now, I'll post a pic after installing all the screws and the LW upper deck...

check this list out, most of the product here were bought from www.rcmart.com
They are either 3racing or GPM aftermarket houps for the R40.
The ones you sholud get emidiately are :
LW front shaft
LW 2speed shaft
LW .8 2 speed tranny

it's better if you check the list ok, I dont have the LW tranny there, but its like 20 grams lighter than the stock, also the uper deck is 20% lighter and the titanium screws are way lighter than stock...
good luck

When you get your LW upper deck, lay it on top of the stock one and trace. Then you can use your dremel to make another LW one. Make sure to use a mask though. You don't want to breath in any fibers.
