Regg- Have you feel to floyd lately? Do you know a guy named chuck who goes there? Was gonna meet up with him Friday, but I wasted my time trusting that this guy was gonna have a real car ready for me to look at.Total waste of a race day man. SHeesh!!!

Hows the MT12 running for you? I'm thinking of after getting the LW chassis try the car on the track again with the same setup and run a slightly larger pinion if needed. Still though it seems fine for now.

I was at FBF a week ago, the name doesn't sound familier but I may know him if I see him.

the MT12 is running pretty good, was turning a few heads last time I was out with the R40 they couldn't belive it was a MT12 in there, I never bothered to mention the LW shafts or the LW 2 speed or all the other goodies under the hood. I was giving a 1/8 a run for his money, he had me on the straight but he had too much power for the infield.

I got to do some all out high speed runs today and noticed a few things.
The first is that I had to raise the body because it was compressing the shocks so much that it scrubbed the ground..
The second is that the inside of the rims had been rubbing against the hubs. Before I did the high speed runs this had never happened before, only thing I can figure is that the downforce was causing the rims to flex... they are twister foams... anyone else have this problem before?

my setup is all stock.. I know for the running I was doing today I needed stiffer springs.. at high speed the car was planted to the ground on a corner.

I like my MT12, but it's just not as reliable as my Rody and runs way faster all around. Love the engine. If anything I may sell the MT12.

Hey hey, this website upgrade is pretty sweet!

Onnetz-Same here. Only the rear hubs though seem to get scrapped up pretty good.

and yeah it was just the rear tires that were rubbing.. you using twister tires or have you had it happen with all brands?

either way I'm sticking with them, you cant beat $23 for a set of foams..

Cool. I suggested they upgrade. I love vb3 vs vb2. Now we can search easily in the forum and the thread. OH YEAH!

Now these ultra long threads are now easy to seek and find info. Someone told me you could do this with vb2. But its so much easier on vb3.

Now I can go and search some stuff in this thread. See you guys later I got some r40 info to go digging up.

I need some help. I tried a search but couldn't find it.
Somewhere I was reading some info on shock oil and pistons
It was about thicker verses thinner oil and the effect of how many holes the piston has on the shock action.
I am trying TRF shocks on the R40 and with a 3 hole piston / 50wt oil the car has a lot of push. The car is lazy in the tight parts of the track.
The track is medium size temporary parking lot track with poor to medium bite.
Thanks

I'll try and clarify myself. You have the light weight 2 speed right? You ordered a pair of the purple stock pinions for the stock 2 speed. Those pinions won't work with the .8 module gears on the light weight 2 speed.

No I have the 3racing. I didnt know hpi's lightweight 2speed was totally different. And mine is just the housing. Everything else is the same.

Now I understand. Yes, the LW 2 speed has a finer tooth pattern. They claim that its more efficient in transfering power. That along with the reduced rotating mass makes the higher gearing of the LW 2 speed perform the same as the stock 2 speed gearing.
