I use a AE starter box with a single motor and it works flawless. The key is "battery capacity". Use a gel cell and forget the battery sticks.

I have a 12v battery. Am I doing something wrong?

BTW, I have a dual motor box. It turned the engine over, but at TDC the motors won't turn it over. The single motor starter kicks it over from any position. Maybe a 12V motor box is better? Does the xtra RPM really matter? I guess it must.

Both configurations provide 12V, but the current capacity is more if using a large gel-cell. Typical gell cells rate around 12V @ 7 Amps while two 6 Volts sticks in series configuration are rated around 12 V with much less current

gel cell --- http://www.lightninghobby.com/viewit...dproduct=25793

What battery configuration do you use?

Mine is 12v cell with 7amps. It doesn't say gel cell though. Anyway I tried the trustly ol box and I realized it was me. I just had to push it down firm enough to let the motors do it's job. The new problem now is how many amps to charge my 12v battery at? I have an Integy 16x4 charger and it's adjustable: .5A, 1A, 2.5A, 4.0A, 5A and max. My friend suggest 1amp, but I wanna make sure this is ok. I'd hate to ruin my box battery or $140 charger.

Are carbon graphite arms available for the R40 yet? Also any other carbon graphite parts available?

What are some worthwhile hopups besides the lw hpi stuff.

Also whos stuff is better for graphite 3racing , gpm or kawahara. I want to get the graphite front bumper and battery cover.

A slower charge is always better than a rapid charge as heat builds up as you increase the current on charge.

So at 7Ah ( meaning your battery can source 7 Amps for one hour ( theoretically anyway ), you can charge at a number of different current rates you have available such as:

0.5 A for 14 hours
1.0 A for 7 hours
2.5 A for ~ 3 hours

You see the math here? Just keep (amps x time) to equal 7Ahours.

Since slower is better, I would suggest the 0.5 at 14 hours but 1A for 7 hours is OK as your friend suggested too.

Sounds good. This is my charger here. http://integy.automated-shops.com/cg...36105565217.95

It says it can charge 12v but it says 12v packs..10cells-12v. So can I go ahead and try it?

Klander- Kewl. For now I'll work with the box though.

LOL. Why, will you get laughed at or something? I heard from when NEO raced the ATTACK 235mm and Saber 8th at some Nationals and Salven happened to walk by to take a look at the cars and he said "Clone", shook his head and walked away.

Yep - Set it for 1A and go for it. I didnt read that it was a "auto" charger that shuts off when peak voltage is reached so just try timing it for 1A at 7 hours and monitor the current readings.

Well, at least hang on to the battery - it will make a good pocket warmer on the streets.

P.S - I can send you a brand new 32" x 32" cardboard box. It doesnt have many of the comforts as your apt though.
