For now the R40 stays unless I decide to let it go. I love this car a lot though.

I'll probably race this year the R-40... it has gotten to the point that I love te way it handles and I've spent too much money on it lol.... 1/8 will have to wait jeje

You've gotta try the Lola body. OMG it acts like an 8th! My only gripe is the price for some .12s. Aside from my old track and new ones I wanna race at I can basically spend less for a .21circuit engine and it's gonna be faster than expensive .12 that will push the R40 slower than the 8th. I'd also like to try something new as well soo I guess it's a shot.

Yep! the lola body is on it's way!!! I also ordered the floating rear mount for the V one RRR to see if it fits the r40 somehow.
I got my parts today, so I;ll be trying the gear combos to see what happens.
On sunday my friends and I where invited to Team Hornet R/C club, it's near the beach and they are buildind a track there, so I will check it out and we will try some drag racing at the airplane strip which is .5Km lol...

Sounds great man. The more I think about the 8th, the more I wanna do it. I can actually get hmm..about $400 total for the R40, MGT, and tl01 gear. Still it won't make up for the other $$, but its ok. I have radios to sell and engines as well.

$590 for the mugen at my LHS . They will hook me up with a Top engine also. Much faster than the RB S7c and a few bucks more even though it's older. Aside from that I recruited 4 more ppl to the R40 club.

Well I talked it over with some of the LHS guys who run there and it's a 50/50 decision. So since I know my mom will kill me if she saw how much I spent for the 8th, I'm having the LHS order the integy parts for my R40 and waiting for a new .12 engine to buy.

Regg what plug are you using with your MT12? My runs nice, but sometimes even when rich it seems to stop and doesn't wanna start. I guess that plug was dead and I tossed in an OS A3. It ran really nice with that one. A guy is bringing in back an NS12 S5, so I may pick that up. I would like a legal on though so I'll wait on that.

personally i'd say stick to what a got for now getting 1/8 on-road is quite expensive and so are the parts and have you checked out how much a set of tires are? over 50$ for a full set of foams, that you can burn thru in an afternoon and the bodies ain't cheap either.

I beleive i'm running an A5 or an A8 by OS since i'm running 30% I went with a cooler plug but the one thats in there now is left over from last season, so i'm not real sure.

as for the engine hold out for the OS.12TZ from what I hear it's worth it they should be out by the end of the month. according to sorces at OS.

I have a printing of when I wanted to go 1/8 and wanted to get the proceed, this is how much I was going to spent for starters...
$1,261.00 this is just the beginning... I believe with all the stuff I have on the R-40 I've spent close to that, but will never get it back if I was to sell the car, so my suggestion is keep the r-40 and if you wanna go 1/8, start saving from scratch and buy another receiver and several crystals to use the same remote control for both cars, that's what a lot of people do here to race 1/10 and 1/8...
Go for the integy parts and the OS .18 or .12tz engine. My friend with the serpents was having a real battle the other day on the straights with the 1/8 big boys...

Yeah I figured for now I'll stay with the R40. The parts are on order and should be in next Thursday. I'll also be waiting for that TZ. I ran my 8th buggy and the Picco .26 is just TOO powerful with the 13T. I scorched the front tires easily from just tapping the throttle. I'm gonna go back with the 15T CB. It's got too much power down under. Anyway, I can't wait to show off my R40 with all the new parts on it . Guess I'll slap the skyline body back on as it's in a cleaner state than my Lola body.
