well they finally came in and I must say i'm more then happy with these screws every screw I need to reconvert the R40. I loved the look of stainless steel but I have yet to get a set that dosen't round out at a crtical moment ( there's always one) so I decided to forget about saving a few grams with the screws and go for all out strength and reliability. oh here are the pics.

Sweet. Hey Reg I realized you have a HB lightning also. Is it the buggy or the MT? I have the picco .26 engine in my bug, and MT12 in my R40. We should race each other some day at Floyd or mess around.

lighting buggy rtr 1 running a picco .26.
sounds good, I got the buggy mainly to just mess around, problem is with the picco I can't keep the tires on the blasted thing, they keep wanting to tear off the rims.

Well you guys I got to say that os engine gets nicer and nicer everytime!!!
Today there where many you say that the R-40 was the winner, but I have to say that really the reason is because I was driving more conservative due to the quick response of my car. The serpent was faster than the last time... the problem is tha braking section... Too bad I did't get anybody to video tape the races, but I surely will get a bigger engine later on... for now my wasp 3 port kicks butt overall. Even the serpente 735 IMPACT had a real bad time trying to catch me on the turns, but on the straights it was a bit faster than me. I had a lot of fun today...

Damn man, we think a like! My HB is ALSO the RTR 1! COINCIDENCE! However I'm using a 15T CB. Got any pics of your rides? What upgrades do you have on it? Did you see mine?

I'm looking into that OS engine myself.
but if there is anything i've found out is that speed isn't everything control and consistancy are the most important.
speed is nothing without control
speed is nothing without consistancy
get those two down then add the speed and you'll be a dominent force on the track.

so how'd the car handle with all the lightweight parts on it?

Thats what I did today, it was so much fun to not have the fastest car, yet win all the races due to consistency lol... the R40 is awesome!!!

nope didn't see yours. I think i'm running an 18t clutch bell with ofna purple aluminum clutch shoes. I put kani front arms and knuckles on it the steering got much quicker. other then that it's pretty much stock.

as for pics none at the moment i'll snap a few tommorow.

by the way what bodies fit the buggy anyway my stocker is pretty busted up.

Well REGG the car handled beautiful!!! the reaction was really impresive. the only thing I need is a little more top end. Right now I have a 54T and 60T spurs with the 21T and 27T pinion, but I think I'll switch the pinion to a 22T/28T for more top end... A'm I right???

for top end i'd say get just the 28t pinion or a 29t or even a 30t if they make em.

I'd keep the 21t for the hole shot if you go up on the first gear pinon you'll slow down your acceleration and lose some advantage in the turns and the beggining of the straight.

right now i'm running 16/48 first 21/44 for second and the acceleration is ballistic and the top end gives them fits on the straights. some people are surprised to see my lil MT-12 when they look under the hood
