I'm gonna do my next project for the class. The stock shafts I'll make them hollow like the LW shafts. Just to do the test and see how they run.

Gib- That won't work. The rear pulley sits too high on the car and it will rub on it.

Klander-/Regg- I think I may give the .18TZ a try. The RB costs way too much to spend and I don't wanna do it. With my skill and tools I'll make that TZ put down the RB for sure. The Sirio is good, but with the RB peaking most power down lower, I'll go TZ.

AWESOME... Go for it!!! I'm happ with my engine at the time, I will try maybe later the OS .12tz 3port, but then again we race and no one checks the ports, so I guess if you do fine with that engine, I might have to get one similar in the future... but for know I'll stick with the little WASP
Did you see the Serpent's crash?

Higher engine mounts might work. Or I might just turn around and eBay it again, and buy a different engine. I'm still hoping there's an appropriate header. It sounds like I need something that comes straight out, parallel to the ground to clear the belts first, and then comes down, much like the header that Hark posted.

Hark - any more info on that particular header?

Thanks.

On my track we HAVE to use front diff due to the grip conditions ...

So ... wich parts i have to buy in order to mount a front diff on the R40 ? ... and wich extra parts to mount the front AND rear diff with 4 gears ... ?

thanks ...

Gig- Don't go with the higher mounts. Send that back in and get the other pipe shown. That or the one the yokomo makes for the GT4. If you raise the engine, 1)the pipe will be raised too, 2)it won't look to good and 3) raise the CG.

Klanderman- The LHS doesn't have the TZ as yet. The RB they have I'd have to special order one and the Rody's they won't drop the price on. GRRRRR! Ah, well I'm gonna race with or without the engine for now and just enjoy my good reliable MT12, while he learns his way around his Rody 3 port turbo engine. For a newb to onroad he sure made a bad choice, but as I said, they made the mistake and have him a rody instead of the regular.

YEP! That's it. IT works very well. Can use it on the Serpent vehicles also.

Klander-Yeah, I'm gonna have to wait a bit. Ah well. Meanwhile I'll work on the car and get it to run nicely. Still for parking lot bashing I'd like more speed. As soon as I get my clutch to kick in as soon as I tap the trigger, it's over for him. By the time he gets his ride to move I'll be far ahead.

Klanderman, I wreck my poor Savage in parking lot and hit a pole. Did a 360 and started driving in circles.

How do you like your WASP motor? It's PICCO based right. Do you have trouble tuning it? I saw this on E-bay and it's a modified edition.

Sorry to post again, i made a mistake, i didnt read the instructions on the HPI website ... the R40 comes with FRONT & REAR differentials right ?.

Now, wich kind of fluid it uses on the diffs ? ... its diff OIL or GREASE ?. And how hard/easy are they to tune according to the track ?.

The 4 gear conversion worth the extra $$ and weight ?

thanks

PAT

front diff uses 50K diff fluid
rear diff uses kit supplied grease

have yet to try the 4 gear mod in the rear myself.

the diffs can be accesed in less then 5 min if you want to swap them out figure 10 min to swap them out provided you already have another one ready to go.
