thanks, usually I tighten it until I feel the preassure, but thanks for the tip. Was yours really fast on the start or did you feel it on the go? I heard that the LW 32 speed ratio has a bit more top end...

Mine is flat out fast with my MT12. The resest has to do with the centax setup. I tightened mine for better acceleration and I just ran it in the bathtub. I'll try it out later today as it's gonna be nice.

Mugen MT12
It makes about 1.15HPand spins upto 36,500RPM on the dyno. Probably hit 37k they said. It's quite powerful and has like the most bottom end compared to some .12s. It's old, but when modded it will hang with NS12s. It's made by novarossi, but sold under mugen. I got it at the LHS for $130. Awesome engine.

I guess the engine is iportant, but handling and drivability is more important because that's how you win races...

Very true. I use to go to floyd sometimes and bash against other trash talkers. It was fun to put em to shame. I even went with the R40 for a day or two with a friend and ran against some other tourers. I still kick major butt with the car as it's necessary to be come one with the vehicle. Sounds crazy, but ya gotta know your car.

BTW, I just got back from running the R40. The adjustments I made really work. The car is very planted until you accelerate really hard outta a turn. That's only when the car will powerside a bit. Other than that, I love the way the car handles. The MT12 spools up insanely with the THS pipe. It's freakin awesome. I don't think I'll get a new engine for a while. I may need to use the smaller spacers though for the centax setup as the engine still revs a bit before the car gets going. However when the car is rolling it picks up a bit. Not a problem I can't fix. I won't use any toe in as I was still sliding under acceleration. Gonna pick up the 4 gear mod and some diff oil.

I need to dial in a bit more break in the R40 though. It works fine but at for them high speeds either more brake, or a stronger thr servo. I like the way the car handles and now I finally have scratch marks on the chassis! Mostly the rear even though it's set higher. Weird eh?

Man the way my engine revs, it just sticks in my head. Gotta love this car. I wonder what diff oil should I try for the rear with the 4gear mod?

yeah I know what you mean, my chassis on the bottom is silver at the back compared to the purple in the middle and slightly scratch on the front... I'll post a picture when I get home, I'm at the office right now, but during my lunch break I went to get my parts and fixed the steering rod that was broken

I guess it's scratched on the back more basically because of the acceleration, all the weight is transferred to the rear and when I brake the weight transfers to the front and some gets scratches there too. Right now my car is 4mm rear and 3.5 front...

I have the new version, the 2004 and that one comes with the 4 bevel gears, the manual says to use stock grease, but I barely have light grease on it and works great... try it and let me know ok

If you can and have a video camera or digi cam, make a video clip of the car at high RPM, so I can enjoy the revs... Don't you just love the way it sounds? I sometimes hear it like a small version of an F1 when changing from first to second gear....
