Inexcusable...
I thought the NTC3 steering rack comes with bushings too...? Perhaps now they don't.

Replacing the bushings with bearings would be a good idea.
I replaced the bushings with bearings today but seems nothing change. I'll check the servo saver maybe it's the problem

Cool hop-up parts. Where could I obtain them for my R40? What website(s) are they available through?

I just want to know how did HARA hold the battery in place without using the battery case. Look at the picture and you will see the battery without the case.

He probably did it with shoe-goo or servo tape.

Does the Karahara rear tower give you new bottom rear arm mounts for the shocks?..

The HPI does....

I wouldn't buy any towers except HPI's..they're the ones who designed the car..they know all the roll centers, roll moments,geometry,etc...

Why would you need new bottom rear arm mounts if you're just changing the rear shocktower?

OK, HPI knows the geometry, roll centers, etc.. of their car, BUT apparently they did'nt know well enough cause now they're releasing new shocktowers which require different rear arm mounts.

OH wait!! Maybe, just maybe HPI planned this all along!

For example...

-Only two small gears in the diffs.... upgrade!

-Alloy shock towers.... Upgrade!

-Plastic shocks.... Upgrade!(especially in hot climates)

-Rubber belts.... Upgrade!

-No oneway..... Upgrade!

And now they're releasing graphite suspension and chassis parts!?

No wonder HPI made this car heavy!

Now don't get me wrong, I think the R40 is very capable in it's stock form.......but many R40 owners out there will be bothered by it's weight and other deficiencies and HPI will happily be standing by with the upgrades. HPI is counting on that.

It's the way of HPI! Just look at their past.

Having said all that, the R40 would still be near the top of my list if I was in the market fo a Pro nitro tourer.

gee,I think I did get you wrong..

the car is very capable..but your panning it cause it needs hop ups?...

I don't worry about the hop ups...

as long as its not breaking knuckles and universal's when it hits the wall..

yeah it may be a little heavy, but in its stock form this car is amazing, it handles better then any car i have driven and i havent even upgraded anything yet.

I just got my shipment of parts in, i ordered all the plastic trees so i have a spare of everything, and i orderd all the gears, springs, swaybars, and one-way.

I cant wait for the next race!

I did'nt say it NEEDS hopups.

What i'm saying is this.....

Why only two gears when it fits four?

Why plastic shocks? The Pro4 has them.

Why aluminum shock towers? It has a graphite radio plate.

Why no oneway?

Etc., etc..

IMHO, the answer is not "To keep the cost down". They're reasons to have and sell hopups.

This is supposed to be a "PRO" level touring car..... I say equip it as such! HPI already has the RS4-3(SS) for racers on a budget.

Again, people ARE going to worry about those things and the first thing they are going to do is upgrade it. And again, HPI is counting on it.

Sorry bout all this ranting but I expected more from HPI especially since they caught alot of flack about the Pro3.

Oh yeah, back to the rear shocktower....

Why the need for a different arm shock mount?

well,to be honest, thats a good question..same thing occured to me.....Unless they were able to put more holes in the tower, and needed to have a different mount to take care of the additional angles..

I'll call and find out..

Alright, enough bitchin' mr. FREAKAH!

Fastharry,
