Any suggestions for a medium bite track with medium tight turns?
Thanks for your help guys
P.S. If you could explain in depth about how to measure toe in/out, camber/caster etc and with what tools, that would be amazing.
do yourself a big favor...

one,go to HPI's site and download the manual for the r40....

second, look at the links on the left....go to the FAQ section, and read up......if you know whats in that section, and apply it with practice, you'll smoke 70% on the track on knowledge alone...

Thumbs up

I read what fastharry was talking about... he's trying to save you some money...It is important to learn about how to balance your car in order to win races.
I usually race for fun on weekends, but nevertheless I try to keep my car balanced and ready for the competition.
What you can do is use atsushi hara's set up sheet, or download the r-40 manual to know how to set it up.
good luck
let me know if you need anything else

Cool! Hey how did your friend's serpent hold up to the .18TZ? I'm hearing it's better in belt driven cars than shaft. The R40 is currently being worked on as I'm home again due to no access to get to college. The Mugen is fast enough, but I just wanted to know.

well what can I say, the .18 is fast as hell, but the car is hard to control, so hard that my friend had 2 car wrecks in which he broke pieces, while I just got hit and my pipe went boom! I ordered another one and it's already here, along with a new gas tank and an M3 body which I'm going to paint pearl black

Yeah I saw it. I was just wondering how did it hold up. In the past I thought of a Sirio motor, but it's that they say the Sirios run better with a shorter gear ratio since they have a lot of top end. How much of a shorter ratio I don't know. Well I fixed a problem with my R40. I realized that I had TOO much toe in. The rear wheels are straight and when I push the car, the rear doesn't wiggle that much as it use too. I'm use to driving with no toe in or a little. I need more of them spacers for the PB's though. The car is just awesome. I'd regret it if I sold it!

awesome, I use 2.5 toe in in the rear, but if you like it with no toe in, I guess is how you drive. I f I was to get another engine I would stick with team orion. It's fast, reliable and easy to tune

Yeah on my other car I had about -0.5 toe in and it was fine. The R40 when I checked had more than -3 toe in! I'll try the neutral setting later on when I can get outside. I love the way my car looks now with the new foams.

BTW, it's hard to get Orion stuff here. I like the bodies though. I have my old BMW body that came with the NEO tnt for a beater once I make new body mounting holes with my new reamer .
