Where did you get your gears. I can seem to find them at my local shops.

well, we dragged two R40s tonite on a 200ft straight. my r40 with the OS TR Turbo was equal to fastharry's r40 with a 3 port RB turbo. i was running hpi fuel (prepping for the worlds) he was running blue thunder race formula.

bang for the buck i still love the os tr turbo.

now to run it against a 5 port rb and see

Well i raced my R40 for the first time today and I must say i was impressed. The car handled very well completly stock. I think my only complaint in the stock gearing, I was topping out way to quick on the straights.

i didnt get to race much, i had an unfortunate inncodent with the wall that broke a dogbone and i didnt have an extra. I put in an order tonight for a bunch of spare parts and some new gears.

Seems like several people are saying the same thing, the R40 is good in its' stock form.

I'm turning laps with my R40 that are as fast as with my NTC3. The only difference, I put a ton of work into my NTC3. The only thing I've done to my R40 so far is change the rear tires. 26mm 40 shore is working good for me.

Are you still running the stock springs and shock oil?

I'll agree with ya but only to a point. Not to bash the NTC3 (I love mine) but they come with rubber tires. And I think we all know that rubber tires just don't get it.

well I just saw the R40 for the first time on the weekend and the car sure does have a low cg. Some parts of the car were a little too low for my liking. For example the front one way pulley actually hung out through the bottom of the chassis cut out. Anyway the car maiden voyage was not very impressive it did not complete more than 2 laps in every heat and was put in the boot of the car and driven away before the final. I hope they get the car sorted before our National titles, the events only 2 weeks away and by all reports from overseas the car has heaps of potential.

I have the front one-way and I dont remember it hanging from the bottom of the car. That person you saw must not have had something done right. Anyway, I am running 26 42s up front and 40 35s in the rear. I still have to much steering but I put a set of stiffer springs in the front and a softer sway bar in the rear. It definitly helped. I was able to wheel it thru the corners a lot harder.
