How do they manage to break the composite carb on the Evo II? I haven't heard of anyone breaking them. The composite is good for when you encounter vapor lock.

Hey guys...

I ran a HPI R40 for the first time last night. I had a few teething problems, but i expected that considering i only finished the car at 11:30 the night before and had to work Saturday Morning

Anyway,

What are the differences between the R40 2004 spec and the orginal car? I haven't been able to find anywhere that will tell you

Thanks,

BB

the difference is that the 2004 edition pretty much has every hpi brand hop up that is on already included. so any hpi hop up, the 2004 edition has it, it is a much much lighter version. i know www.rcmart.com is selling it.

AHHH IC. And the Savage 4 bevel kit is the upgrade for it? I saw two on tower, but which one? The Savage .21 upgrade one?

I'm guessing it's that one. BTW, I'm just preparing my R40 for my track. The MT12 will definately be going. Too slow for that huge track and runing in my parking lots here. Especially when you want to play tag on the track and try to run away down the straights. LOL!

HPI Part #33406

this will allow you to have both a 2 and 4 gear diff..for easy tuning...

GRR...man so who ever said to use the savage one lied. SheesH!. I'll see if they have that one. Any suggestion of what oil to fill it with? I still have the stock silicone in the front diff which is slowly but surely leaking all over my alarm clock. LOL.

they didn't lie......all the savage one does is convert the diff...but in some instances, the diff will give you too much steering(I tried it and hated it)......

the R40 kit allows you to switch back and forth....

Hey you guys... I'm no expert at diff cases, but I took the advice to lower my car to 5mm in the front and 5 1/2 mm in the rear, I also instaleed the titanium shafts, the F/r graphite shock towers, the steering brace and the belt tensiones and my car was hauling ass!!!
The only thing I encountered was the shifting point, now my car shifts to soon, is it because of the weight reduction???

Hey Harry, can't I just take 2 other spider diffs and install em in the stock rear diff? Will it work or not?
