Hey guys i finally finished putting my R40 together. Im just waiting on a battery pack that I ordered and im gonna break it in.
I put the Mugen-Nova MR-12 in it with the RD logics pipe. This thing is gonna be so fun to drive.

Here are a few pics for you all. Im gonna race it on the 21st for the first time.

I would get rid of that fuel line though. I found that the fuel line it comes with isnt very good. And dont forget that if you are racing you will need a good bit of fuel line to make the 5minute mark. They say the fuel tank is 75cc but it is only a little over 71cc's.

i use two fuel filters and extra long fuel line like hara did. it works great the engine hardly gets bubbles in the fuel line. i can run about 7 minutes running really rich. i havent leaned her out yet because its a new engine.

Hey guys,

R40 looks good

Is there anything you guys would change/buy for the R40 if you bought a new car now, after having built your first R40?

Any problems with sloppy parts on this thing? Hows maintenance on it?

dgill: is that a low profile servo on the steering? is there some kind of protection on the servo?

no its not a low profile servo, just a standard airtronics. I was thinking of getting a low profile though so its not as exposed. There is a guard in front of it, but its not very tough.

nice...thats right....I finally been racing my car also...with that same PIA RB that lost me the race....(I took it out of the SS)..

I just don't know what engine to get........

Not sure about the TR turbo yet...Treky's car runs real well(you met him also).....but its no faster then the RB..of course, his engine isn;t broken in yet.....but unlike the RB,it stays running

Hey Guys.....

ANYONE try the new HPI RE engine yet...

In the new issue of RC CAR,they tested it in the r40..theysaid it had great low end......and BLISTERING top speed....equal to any OS or NOVAROSSI engine..(which,after seeing the SS 1hp claims, and seeing that dog run,Id find VERY hard to believe)...

esp. in a tank like the r40.....
