Yeah, you gotta know how to search on Towerhobbies. You basically have to know exactly what your looking for, where to find it and what the part number is, its date of birth, Social Security Number, and blood type!

Kinda stupid huh?....If you knew where to find what you were looking for, why would you need their search engine.

I've told them that their search engine is a little anal. That it needs to be a little more user friendly. No changes yet though...

Default 2nd speed and Radio System Concerns

Guys two quick questions...

1. Do you guys have problems with 2nd speed engagement. I seem to be having problems moving from 1st to 2nd.

First when i had this problem, i reduced the tension of the springs onto the drum. THinking it was not engaging coz it was too tight but that didn't help. Suspected that the 2speed balls were worned out and got stuck to the screws therefore no rotation of the drum. Changed new balls but didn't really help. Now i've changed the spring tensioners thinking that the spring rate could be the factor and that helped. But the other day on the track i tried a new fuel and it didn't seem to engage again. Any similar experiences and remedy.

2. Radio
Need to clear some clouds here. Am thinking of getting 1 3pk real soon but can't make up my mind bet HRS and PCM. What's the diff and advantages/disadvantages? Have heard that the fail safe feature does not work with HRS - is this true??

Thanks in advance budds.

If you get the 3PK HRS, you gotta fetch out the wallet and dig deep for some digital servos.

But aren't the Futaba S9451 servos that come with the radio digital servos already??

The 3PK doesn't come with servos Its just Transmitter and receiver.

I have the 3PK and love it.

HRS does have failsafe and it works fine. It has saved my car from interference and low battery.

Yes its pricey but worth every penny in my book.

As long as they are in the same freq and channel, it is a YES...however, it does not have the build-in failsafe...for me, that is a well $80 to spend....saved me several 60 mph head on....

3PK with PCM receiver DOES have failsafe build-in, just like the 3PK with HRS receiver.....HRS = high respond system, must use ONLY digital servo......and what it does is it transfer signal 3 times faster then regular....

However, no human being can tell how fast is 3 TIMES faster on signal transferring......but I can tell how fast is digital servos and how $$$$ they are for sure...

My opinion....to save money, get the PCM receiver and some high torque servo and high speed servo....if money is no object, get the HRS and S9550 and S9451

No, since Futaba and Hitec use different shift (I think it was negative), than JR/AIR/KO.

No, different shifts.

Check out the receiver in the pic. You notice that Hitec/Futaba are different from the rest.
