I might have to run a pressure chamber or get a new tank
yeah, i had one that leaked out the back of the fuel cap btwn the cap and the tank body. replaced it a problem solved.

i'm sending it back to hpi.

i was using a pro-line original stratus body which i plan to cut a bunch of the rear wing off of to see if that helps
Depends on your track. I find on small, slowish tracks the Alfa works very nicely. Once you are going quick the better bodies are Stratus 2.1 and Vectra. Just my opinions.

Yes I have all the available gearing, why do you ask?

I must say the new ratios on the new box are much better. I use 58mm tires most of the time, and on the 1.0 module gearbox I was routinely using the green gears even on medium sized tracks. The 0.8 module gearbox gearing is far better for using smaller tires on medium to large tracks.

Default Floyd

Tranced- Think you can take some shots of Floyd Bennet field next time you go? I haven't been there in a while. Want to know what the track looks like now. Still thinking of an R40.

Default gears

Hey AMG, do you remember what spur gears you were running with the green pinions?

I'm still trying different gear setups. Thanks.

If I am not mistaken I think it was 47/44.

Hey AMG (and others), I believed my R40 is in the air over the middle of USA now....so I want to collect some gears information for the R40 for this up coming weekend race and see how R40 handle compare to my NTC3.

Anyhow, I don't believe I can get the 0.8 module in USA beside Tower, but there is no reason to get that yet because they only carrry the kit, they don't have any other SPUR or PINION for sale, I am not going to run the stock gears forever, so I will wait..

My question is....for MID-LARGE size track, what is a good combination spur and pinion that you recomment? I have no idea what my R40 (used) came with, so give me some head up...

Thanks

the only reason you can get it from tower, is because they get all there stuff from the distributor great planes, and great planes also does have the replacement gears and spurs, so yes they are available. but also the other main distributor horizon hobby, they now stock the .8 module. that is who i got mine from. so if your local hobby shops gets htere stuff from either gp or hh, then you are fine.

Golden, then I must check with Great Plane again.....I can tell you 1 thing, GP is far worst then towers, they know no more then you and me about the stuff they carry......not to mention, I have account with GP and sometimes their dealer price is 10% more then what TOWER listed on their site.............so that means I buy something from GP and have to sell 20% less to public....

If 0.8 gears are avaible, that is the 2nd option I have to have on my R40....(I already got a set of Serpent shocks to replace the stock one...)

Thanks for the pics guys. Really miss that track as well as onroad. Big fun. It seems larger than the last time I saw it. Wonder how my MT12 will do though in the R40 at Floyd. What do you think tranced? I'm gonna sell my other stuff and probably by my boss hyper .21 8 port for my buggy or get the R40 first. One way or another. Also, I'm gonna use the same body(nissan skyline) that I have for my other nitro sedan but the airhole is cut more to the right part of the windshield. Think refueling an R40 with that body on will be a problem? Here is a pic of it.
