I'm having a hard time finding replacement pillowballs for my R40 anyone know where I might be able to find either the HPI set or another brand that will fit? Ti would be nice but not really nessecery by the way these would be the front pillow balls.

The new product info in English is on the Asia & Oceania HPI site.

These are the products available to hobby stores in our region outside of Japan. We get pretty much the same stuff a few weeks behind Japan.

What shore tires are most of you using? I tried some of the Nitro Shoes in 42 front and 38 rear and got severe push. Then I tried some 37 front and 40 rear GRP and the car had nice steering but was very unstable in the front. The Japan kit tires are 40/40 and I really liked these. Anybody got some good results with a different combo?

I usually run Fast Tire 40/40 during most of my running.

This seems to be a defacto standard. I am quite surprised that the R40 seems to be "optimised" for this combo, and anything outside of it seems to make the car a little skittish or push.

Yep very true. I was used to friggin around with tires quite a lot to get the car right with my older cars. From what I can see of the newer cars (in the hands of the fast guys) they rarely need below 40 shore and front/rear balance is almost always the same. Very interesting..............

I am afraid that I cannot translate this into english very well. I think the new 2 speed will be lighter which is good, but 0.8 module gears do get chewed up faster.

I think you are trying to say that you have a set of these gears and the new 2 speed unit?
