jhigga15: Shock towers are aluminum. Carbon fiber towers are optional.

Definetly looking forward to hearing reports from people that have this car as to how well it works.

Later,

The stock shock towers are aluminum. Woven graphite shock towers are being developed and were used this past weekend. The rear shock tower includes a graphite mount that attaches to the suspension arm (in the stock shock mount holes) to relocate the bottom shock hole to take advantage of an improved shock stroke.

hi cHckbOY5,

Haven't seen you at the forum for quite some time. Got any car yet? Well, for the HPI R40, I'm sure you can run it in the parking lot, just like any other great cars.

Why would you want to abuse your car, though?

Wouldn't you want to learn how to drive and be good at it?

So it comes with two-gear diffs?

The 4 gear diff worked better for looser conditions. Basically, a diff with 4 gears has more mechanical friction. So if you use 30,000 with 4 gears it will feel similar to a two gear diff with 50,000. Also 4 gears vs. 2 will have slightly different characteristic on and off power. It’s definitely something to try. I think the stock two gear diff with 50,000 will work best for most people who don’t have laser precision throttle control like Hara.

Default Rear diff

Is it common with this car to run such thick diff grease in the back? Years ago I can remember with my old MTX2 that we used to run like 5 or 10 thousand in the rear. Did you run that thick to try and loosen the car up?

Thad just said the two-gear is stock!

I'm not counting the outdrive gears.
