Default Shock oil (front and rear)

What oil do you guys use in your shocks? The rear of my car bumps a lot on bumpy tracks. I see other racers run their car smoothly even on bumps. They say to change my oil to a harder one but did not mention the weight. I use the stock springs for both front and rear. I hope you can help me.
