What car is this?

When I had my RC10GT with MIP clutch, the spring got loose and would cause my engine to stall everytime I put it on the ground. When I had my Nitro MT with standard clutch, one of the clutch springs snapped and it did the same.

Usually this is one of the more common causes since the engine will idle fine or will idle a little high but once you put it on the ground where it will have more load, the engine will die out.

Talking nitro nut/clutch

Check to see if your bearings on the clutch have not seized up,second: when you push in on your clutch bell make sure the bell does`nt hit the flywheel or the clutch pads.
Do the wheels of your car spinn when the car is at idle, I mean when the car is not on the ground?

check the drivetrane to make sure its free and try turning the idle up a tad to keep it running. run car to adj high needle then adj low and idle respectively. it might just be real rich on the low end.

Default OS 12TR

I just broke in my engine 2 weeks ago. I had similiar problem as you described. I end up opening the idel stop screw so the opening is close to 1mm instead of the factory setting of 0.50mm. I also lean out the HNS to 1 1/2 from the default of 2 turns out.
The engine was breaking in around 170 to 180 deg.
Hope this help.

nitronut- turn your idle screw in about 1/8-1/4 of a turn. this will help it when it hits the ground

turning it in should be tightening it so its to the right

if the wheels are spinning at idle after engine warms up sounds like the idle is set to high. take the air filter off and check the carb opening when at idle. the opening should be about the thickness of a fingernail or 1 mm.

check to make sure that the clutch spins freely from the flywheel. If not, then theres somthing wrong with the clutch.

If the wheels are spinning at a resonable idle when the car is not on the ground then you definately have a clutch problem!

That is bad, very bad. What this means is that your clutch is engaging the clutchbell at very low RPM (I assume your idle is low).

You have a centax clutch or shoe type?
