Default OS TZ running @ neutral

I have a TZ 3 port and it continues to run (sucking in fuel looks like) even after the throttle returns to the idle position. I iniital thought the clutch is not disengaging but even tightening the spring, it still does this.

Anyone has any idea what the problem is?

are the wheels moving if you lift the car above ground when the car idles ? You may have to space out the clutch bell by shimming it from the inside cause your clutch shoe is riding up against the clutch bell.

Or, you just may have to close your stop idle screw a little more.

Hope this helps. Goodluck

I had a problem similar to this. The engine would continue running at high RPM even at idle. The idle adjustment was set correctly. I originally thought that i cracked the carb insulator and it was leaking air. I put a new one on and same symptoms. After setting my carb back to factory settings, I found out my pit guy had the low end too lean. After I reset it back to factory, the idle came back down to normal and it ran awesome.

( I'm assuming your engine has good idle, ie. not too high rpm )

Have you fixed your ealier problem ?

Consider this tips, hopefully it can help your problem.

BTW, you need to buy kyosho very hard centax spring ( black color ) and/or mugen seiki very hard centax spring ( silver ). The original centax spring you get in xray nt1 is too soft.

Yes, I fixed the earlier problem, thanks for checking. I actually only have this problem with my older 3 port TZ, while I don't have this problem with my brand new 5 port.

BTW why do you need to change the clutch spring?

The original xray spring included in the kit is just too soft.

Ah.. so you mean by switching to a harder spring the clutch would disengage earlier/quicker as soon as I am off-throttle?
