P.S...also, great finish for Barry Voltz, I wish I can be there with you, at least I can see how can you toast 2 engines in 1 race....(I feel your pain, you need NOVA ROSSI, thats why....)
, I learned a lot... A BIG THANKS to the Chicago group, Ira, Dan, Tom and Kurt for all the help (education). Dan was a great pit man in the C main. I lead it all for but 2 or 3 laps, pit stop difference. He kept me in check and managed the race... Ira for motor tuning and Tom on the tips on the clutch and car setup.

I need to work on my paint job...

I would like to thank all the racers that came from all over to race at the 2008 GLC. We had nearly 170 entries and did not miss one heat due to weather!! Bryan Young did an outstaning job running scoring.

A big congrats goes out to the Toledo One Eighth Racers club for hosting an outstanding event. There are too many to thank but they all helped to make this event another successful one.

Congrats to the winners: Bobby Flack in Sedan, Josh Cyrul in 8th Open, Skip Starkey in Masters, and Rick Vessel in the GT Exhibition Class. All the mains provided great racing.

And finally thanks to all our 2008 GLC sponsors for making the raffle a HUGE success with many "top dollar" prizes!!!!

Default Job well done!

Thanks to the One Eighth Racers of Toledo for putting on a great race! The weather was beautiful and the program went smoothly from Wednesday practice all the way through the Sunday Mains!

DNF's (Did Not Finish) are the result of long mains....racers break, have motor problems, etc.

Might say "The Nature of the Nitro Beast"!

Awesome race! The club did a fantastic job, and the weather cooperated beautifully. I'm sure just about everyone is going home pleased with the race, even if they didn't do as well as they had hoped.

There will be a full race report with more photos in an upcoming issue of RC Car Magazine - watch for it!
Nice pics Mike like always
Also mike you have a PM.

Wow, What a great week of action in Toledo! Bryan Young and the Toledo club put on an AWESOME race. Top-notch track and nearly flawless execution of the racing program made for a wicked fun weekend.
Congrats to Bobbo, Josh, Skip, and my man Rick Vessel on their wins. All the classes were hard fought, but the 1/8th open main was fantastic to watch.

The Toledo crew can put on a race, it was just a great time. It to bad its gonna be another 361 days before we can start practice for the 2009 GLC.
Thank you for a great race.
I'd like to Thank Chris Whitney and Mark Unrath for pitting me in the Masters A main, great job. Sure makes the job easier when you know the pits stops are gonna happen quickly. Thanks so much.
Mark Unrath deserved to be in the A main here. After driving so great winning the C main and then driving to the front of the B main. After the last fuel stop we could not figure out why the car lost so much speed, afterwards it was discovered that the nut holding the flywheel came loose and thus with less than 1 min to go he was past by Mike Strack for that final transfer.
What a tough break, but what a great run. You deserved to be there Mark.
Thank you all once again.
Now it time to get ready for the 1/8th Nationals at 301 Raceway.
See everyone there.

An excellent showing for the Motonica P8.0R 08. Art Carbonell with the Saputo sponsored P8.0R 08 showed just how good the car is by out-qualifying some fast drivers and making the A Main. I believe Randy Ramsey put a P8 in the 6th spot in the Master's class. Of course Josh Cyrul gets the big congrats for winning and giving Motonica another victory, perhaps the biggest one yet in the US.
