Stupid R40 question: What engines will this thing take? Seeing it's a race oriented car, I would like to know if buyers with pull start engines can use them.

Nonpullstart engines only. You'll need a starter box.

Since this is the only active R40 thread on RCTech right now, I thought I'd mention the R40 has already shipped to distributors. If you're well-connected or lucky you may be able to get your kits next week.

what?.....

there Is NO CAR on the planet that doesn't need some mods depending on your use of that car...

Dare I say it..even my beloved Tc3 nitro needed a few factory team parts.....

my point is...WHO CARES!!!!...

If your unhappy with HPI's Marketing strategy, don't buy the car....

I'm buying it....I'm modding it....I'm racing it...For HPIs sake, and the whole hobby in general, I hope its so fast,Barry wants one..

and THAT,will be great for the hobby(if the car hauls)...

It will raise teh bar another notch.........

If you cant afford metal shocks, you shouldn't be racing nitro..and 90% of you couldn't tell the difference anyway..

hey frank, the site says they are shipping...

When exactly are they leaving the warehouse?....

Default What's up with the R40 HPI

Guys;

Seems like HPI has a new Car that addresses ALL of the issues that the previous Cars had.

So what is the complaint?

I for one would like to own a R40.

Hey Barry! Team Thad is in Burbank, you should be off the computer and harassing him, you know. Actually he's got quite a supporting crew this time, you might be surprised.

Harry - The kits shipped so quickly this week I didn't even get a chance to get a picture of the shipping line with all the boxes!

from what I saw andy's r40 looked good.
as for the previous cars from hpi it is one
of the best cars for what it was intended
for a fun car that poeple can still race.
now the r40 is a purpose built nitro race
platform with good suspension geometry
with all the adjustments you could think of
in a car so it is on par with the current
so called pro kits.

I don't know about the Racer2s but the R40 is heavier than the competition. Not an issue for being underweight.

You're referring to the V1RR as in V1RR EVO?
