Not possible : (1) due to sedan body is 200mm wide, and (2) the legal trackwidth is 200mm max.

I do not mean to convert them one way or another depending on how many of what shows up.
Just run both classes together and score them separately...I think that can be done?

You mean racing together ( GT1, GT2, GT3 ) like in Rolex Daytona 24Hour ??

Well..... interesting idea.

EXACTLY....I can never figure out why this could not be done. I keep seeing at the club level...3 cars makes a class. Who the heck wants to race with 3 cars in a class.
But yes, You have the Touring Cars or GT class and then you have the Prototype class and they both run for separate points.

seems to me this way you are potentially not fragmenting a class, but possibly increasing it?

Correct me if I'm wrong but the tires actually take the car to 220mm not any changes being made to the car itself??? If the class does take off in popularity this does make for a very easy transition to 220mm but I still feel the cars are better left alone for 200mm. If better traction and handling are what drivers are after let's just bring back the 235mm class. I have a Serpent Impact M2 that's being modded to accept a .21 with 1/8 scale pulleys and belts to handle the power. Talk about to much power!!!

You got it right with the track width....
As for just bringing back the 235 class, I wouldn't mind running this class with the 235 class except for your .21 lol .... I don't think anything is set in stone

Nitro don't need another class...200mm and 1/8th are just perfectly fine. CRC made wide foams like that 4 years ago to convert TC to wider chassis just like this and never works. Serpent still has conversion kits to have the rear floating body mount for lola body....still, not working.

A class that might work is the Inferno GT class...buggy type chassis with 2-speed and spec motor. Mid West Series (almost 40 years of running) dropped the outlaw 235mm class and replaced by the IGT class. At least, $350 RTR kit is the RULE....no $500 engine with $150 pipe set.

I did not mean to say that having the lola class would make the cars only easier to drive. I find the cars would be helped by the bigger tires and the lola body. They would probably be around .9-1 second per lap faster. It is not good for the clubs that have 20 drivers but it is good for those that have 50-60 and have need to attract new people. There is no reason to bash a class because your oppinion is against it. I like the cars and would love to try them. They are extremely fast. Faster than the 235mm cars.. Ask anyone who came to kissimmee 1/8th Nationals in 2005..

Good luck to those who will try them and have fun!!

I'm gonna convert my mtx3 for a GPR class when tires and lola body arrive in my LHS. This old fellow has not been out to feel the track since 2006

I think that it would be cool to just have these parts as an extra tool in the box; never the less making it a new class. I hope that GPR brings out these tires.

So, let me get this straight again, lets dilute the 200mm touring car class by creating another class. You don't need to create another class to do this. How about putting a less powerful engine into your car (an OS 12tz instead of a Max Power SL3 or equivalent), use the few bodies that we do have for touring (instead of spending possibly $50 for a new body), and get plenty of stick time on the track? 200mm cars are easy to drive if you set them up for the track and conditions of the day, use less HP or more throttle control (with your finger), and practice, practice, practice. This is how you make it easy on yourself. What happens when some of you "gung-ho joes" not win in this class on a regular basis: you stop supporting it and it will die just like the other classes that were created then left to die due to lack of support. Just my opinion.

Like previously stated, it won't work out for clubs with small attendance but it will be a nice Idea for the bigger groups willing to try something new...I thought the IGT class was lame for me personally but it seems to have a good following and brought in some racers which is also good.....
