Hey Peter: Obviously it depends a little on the engine and the level of traction, but here is where I start:

I use the stock clutch spring FM432.
I set my gap at .4mm Endplay is minimal.
I tighten the spring down to show 1.1mm of thread. I use the grey clutch shoe.

No, I prefer the 2d with 4 weights (which I think is just a 4d clutch)

Ive used the sirio power clutch. Its a good clutch, but they had some bad machine work on some of the clutch bells which I have one and the bottom line is the Kyosho clutch is very good. Sirio parts are tough to get here and I like the Kyosho clutch.

Default 2d clutch

I do like the three shoe better then the 4d with two weights, but i have a ton of clutch shoes for the 4d so i would like to try 4 weights before i get rid of the shoes. I have run the kyosho clutch 3d for two years with no problems or performance issues. just trying something different. if its not better for me then i will run what has worked.

Peter : or any body else ! Jeff E. here with a question ?

We have a new car that has been fine,we switched the top deck to a lay down servo and ever since we did this the car now is stripping gears ?
Is there anything as far as parts or measurments or anything that could bind this car up to cause the gear stripping?
are the upperdeck supports the same height as the W/C !
are there anyparts that should be diffrent because of w/c verses EVO in the laydown servo exchange ?

Call me if you need to
404-886-8120
Thanks for the help in advance

I prefer the way the grey shoe engages. It seems a bit smoother which to me means it slips a touch more.

Rear-

4 right camber
42 shore - twister tires 60mm
2.5 toe
200mm width
stock blue springs
shocks-layed down
600wt
2 hole piston
20wt diff oil
2.5 sway bar
Roll center pins all the way down

Motor and clutch info:

NOVAROSSI 353 murnan mod
2630 pipe with long header (6 ring)
sirio clutch with .7 gap
.4 end play
I used red(serpeant shoe).
gearing is 17/23 and 60/55

This was a medium bite track. Very flowing and high speed. There will be a few things that I will change for the US OPen next month.

1. A lighter rear sway bar.
2. dark blue springs

The car felt and handled pretty good. If you plan on coming to the US Open this set-up will be a good base to start with.
