i just covered my receiver with a balloon, which also allows protection from fuel and water incase it starts to rain during a race.

its normally for overflow of fuel thats around the lid, the fuel would work its way down the hole, but if you dont have anything connected to it(fuel tube), it leaves a mess on the battery pack

Default Kyosho V-One RRR Evo 2nd spur gear stripping

Guys!

Who can help me out!!!
I've been busting 2nd spur gears like crazy...what's the secret to meshing?
Instructions stipulate to use paper between the gears for correct meshing, but it seems that you have to have the pinion and spur as tight as possible to ensure that they don't strip.

It is weird, as one ensures that the meshing is extremely tight, they bind, which could cause many other problems.

Does anyone have any experience with this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Mike Havlena

when you rev the engine, does the gears just spin and the wheels dont move?? as it could be a bad one way bearing on the 1st gear spur.

also see how your throttle/brake links are positioned as it could be when you give it gas perhaps the brakes are coming on, its highly unlikely, but possible seen it done.

Hi Mike,

Issue has been discussed many times in this thread. If you go back a few months you will find it.

However to save you the hassle, mesh the gears with no gap and as tight as possible while still allowing them to spin freely and you will never have a problem.

I would also recommend using the steel pinions over the alloy ones as the steel never wear out while the alloy wear out after a few race meetings.

one of the guys at my local track was having this same problem to. Make sure that the screws that hold the motor mount to the chassis are not hitting the screws mounting the motor to the mount. If they are you will not be able to tighten them all the way and the motor will move.

hey adrian

look at the pic, all i did was take off the receiver with the two screws and cover the whole lot with the ballon, and putting a few holes in for the ariel and screws.
