Wondering the same thing!

For the price it would be a great backup motor in a pinch on a race day.

i personally never had one, but my friend did. he had .12 modded and it wasnt bad, it wasnt as fast as the big money engines but it wasnt far behind. As for a .21 try it....

I have not tried that particular model you posted. But I have had 3 SH .21 onroad (orange/gold head), that would be the earlier model. Out here in L.A., we wait for the Hobby People weekend sales when these sell for $100.00-$120.00. They are pretty good for practice and for the price they sell at. They are not up there with the likes of a Novarossi 35 plus or a Picco P9. It's a good practice motor or if you're just starting out on 1/8th onroad.

The purple head model, I have not seen around here yet.

Here in South Africa we have not been exposed to the onroad version as yet! BUT, if it is anything to go by the off road motor are very reliable and lasting! after 20l of fuel the motor still has a lot of life in it.

They seem to get more potent as the pinch gets less and running extremely well.

A few years ago, I had a .21 on my Tmaxx and I had a .12 in an onroad car and I had no problems with either one. They lasted a long time, and I gave both to a buddy when I moved..
