The MTX-2 is still a VERY good car. It does require an average degree of setup knowledge, though, because it is a race bred machine. Even though Mugen has recently discontinued selling the cars, parts will still be available & plentiful for a few years. If the roling chassis is in GOOD shape, I would give him no more than $125. I'd actually offer $100 and see what happens. If you are going to have to replace worn parts, then of course, it's not worth the money.

Also, remember, you'll probably put out in the neighborhood of $150-180 on a new engine, approx $50 for a header & pipe, plus the cost of radio gear. By the time you figure all this up, you're probably better saving up your money and getting a new RTR car if you aren't planning to race competitively.

A bit late, but I just wanted to say that my MTX2 still works great.

It can be more tricky than other cars to setup, especially because of the rear roll-center can cause rather erratic performance, but it is still a car of very high caliber.

Default MT12

Shane has a MT12 at the shop. $180.00 I believe. That is what most of the people are running.

Later,
