I have a force.12 motor which is constantly killing glow plugs on me.
Ive tried os #3 and #5's. These plugs lasted less than 2 hours.
The os #8 lasted a little over 4 days.
I have the motor running to what I consider, well tuned. No bog on acceleration, smooth till powerband, plenty of smoke on the straights. And the motors not running hot :/
Is my glow stick (er charger) able to kill these ??
Im at a loss to why/what is causing this.

Yes, if you keep your glow ignitor on the glow plug too long it will lower the lifetime of the glow plug.

Sounds like your running too rich and fouling your plugs. Is the coil shiny & wet, or dull gray & dry?

Its a pull start motor, I have no starter box yet, so when the one way gets oiled up, well, you know the story..(its a pain) :P I do have a tendency to leave the glow stick on the plug while im pulling to try dry, or start. this can be from 10secs to a minute long.
Is that too long ? :/

The plug is clean and oily on removal. Is this a sign of too rich a setting ?? (but see below :/)
Im using 15% nitro, synthetic based.

The motor is, too what I consider, fairly well tuned, i have a home made idle screw in it, but works as factory.
It doesnt bog on full throtle from standing starts, wheel spins fine :P. It accelerates fine to top speed, and holds it fine, with smoke coming from the exauhst as normal.

I havent a temp gun/probe but a basic spit test leads it to be fine in my opinion.

Just at a loss still.. Any suggestions on plugs ? Higher/lower nitro maybe ? problems internally ?

What temp for Nova MT12 engine?? My engine also like to EAT up the glow plug. I think I run too rich. Now I need the temp and this could help me to save the plug. Thanks.

temp usually between 220-250. I have an MR12 and i try to keep it below 250

Check for head shims. and add a couple of .010 shims.

I think i read somewhere which advises you not to run the car till you totally run out of fuel which burns out the plug. Not so sure if this is true but i'll keep that in mind....

I run my mt12 around 250 degrees usually. May sound lean but this is where it is in the powerband. Sounds like u are too rich. Try leaning ur high speed needle out an 1/8 of a turn.
