it has the best detail among other made stratus but it has bad durability because of the "Lexan" used.

this stratus has better steering then PF stratus 1.0 and 2.1

I prefer the protoform stratus 2.1 because the regular protoform stratus doesn't have enough steering. I like my bodies to last long, so HPI isn't usually my pick for bodies.

i would have to say the 2.1 has less steering than the origional!

I would say so also...I like the way the body drives..I think it has more overall stablity....But,the only other guy trying one(and he ran the old stratus up till tues.) actually took the body off and cut it in half...his tc3 wouldn't turn with teh new style..

HPI vs Protofrom

Thats weird, around here the 2.0 by Protoform is the hot ticket. I have not had any problems getting the car to turn. If anything it turns better. I even run the the 2.0 on my nitro car, with great results.

Later,

Thats funny that you all refer to the origional Stratus to the 2.0! The 2.0 is the eletric version (190mm) and the 2.1 is the nitro version (200mm) from Protoform!!!

BTW- I like Protoform bodies over HPI.

Definitely have to vote for the original Proto Stratus. The 2.1 handles like like the 300m. Longer body and more stability, less turning.

Agree.....I don't install the 2 side wings.... gives abit more steering.....but on the str8....stability is the best.....a more balance body in my own opinion wuld be the RSX body...

What they told you this, haven't used a Stratus 2.1 this body gives you more steering, at a cost of giving you less bite on the rear.

Definitely don't like how handles, too sensitive on the front, too loose on the rear... a good whack on the boards if you don't adjust your car properly.

Old Stratus is the most equilibrated body you can get in the market, is what you need to consider the baseline due to their neutral handling.

I have to disagree with those that say the 2.1 has mroe stability because I agree with what corse R said about the body. It has a bit more of an agressive turn-in with a definite lack of side bite when pushed too far. But that is what works at my local track. I tried a Stratus (old) once and it just plainly wasn't right for the job.

I also move the wing forward for even less side bite... I don't need it... the car flow better and rotates more freely on and off-power. I like the bodies that don't straighten themselves out, once you've accelerated from a turn ( accelerating out of a turn is something our tight track doesn't let you do, especially if you run rubber tires some times).

Like everything else, I guess the question posed was a bit unfair... stacked I guess... because the opinions that he was looking for heavily depends on the track and the driver's opinion too.
