Default Buying a new engine!

I have a hpi rs4 rtr nitro. I have heavy duty 2 speed paris picco turbo eing pipe and a os mx .12 cv-x. I am gonna trade in my fe with a 100 bucks to hpi for a .12r ss. Is the .12r ss alot faster or noticibilly faster then my .12 cv-x? Also do i need a new heard for the hpi.12r ss? does novarossi make the .12rss if not hwo does?
thank you to those that reply

at most,it would be marginally faster only.
i dont know who makes the engine, but if i had to guess it'd be OS.
if ur fe is beat up OR u have spare 100 bucks then go right ahead.
if not u might want to hang to the OS for a while.

For that price, you can step up to a CV-r. Tower has them going for around $100-$120, depending on what setup you need. I just copped a .15 CVRX for $124. (There's no sanctioned runs over here...)

Its probably made by fantom, it looks like one of the older fantom engines with a diffrent color head and its absc.

the ss is made by the same people who made the fantom and tamiya engines..they are NOT made my Novarossi(I think S&H made them)..regardless,it doesn't matter..

My SS engine is no way as fast as even my cvr side exhaust motor...I punted that motor in 2 weeks...

out a nice cvr 12 side exhaust motor in it..you don't want to go to fast,it will ruin the handling..

I believe so. The case had the same mounting dimensions as teh cv line, but way more grunt. You won't be dissapointed

if your old engine and new engine use the same exhaust configuration then most likely you can use the manifold

as other said the mounting dimension is the same, you should be able to use the engine mount, unless yours is broke now
