Default Engine manufacturing question

Hi, I am doing a reverse engineering project on a Norvel AME glow engine that one of my friends has.

The point of the project is to determine what processes were used to make the parts of the engine (casting, forging, etc)

Does anybody know what processes are typically used to make the parts of glow engines?

Crankcase are cast aluminum, cranks are cast/ground, pistons are cast/ground or turned from billet and then ground, rods are cnc.

Hope this helps
