I was previously told that the NT1 shouldnt use aftermarket parts, just the option parts that Xray sells...is this true for Serpent and Mugen??
You heard right about the NT1. Of course my opinion will always be labelled as biased though.

I actually don't know much of anything on RC nitro history. Heck, I just embarrased myself mistaking Swaugers pitmate for the man himself 2 weeks ago. But I do see the effects of what your talking about since I started racing nitro last year. However, that mugen tide is changing...

And I do consider Serpent a close cousin of XRAY.

Are you still living in NY? Did you race at Floyd last year? I gotta agree with you though there are not many serpent drivers in the northeast but I get the impression that will soon change!!

If you choose the NT1 go with xray optional parts not other brands.

Aah, not so. Since XRAY's owner and Chief of Development was the father of Serpent technology.

Not good. When qualies started, guess who was in mine? Then my car was oversteering just enough for me to take him out.

Of course I was a man about it, apologized, made sure I knew which body was his before each of the next qualifiers (he changed paint schemes), and got out of his way from then on...

And to his credit, he didn't seek revenge at all and passed cleanly every time.

Between the 720 and the NT1... I'd say go with the NT1. But for me, I prefer the RRR Evo WC or the MTX-4R. Out of all 4 cars, I'm sticking to the RRR evo WC. I have compared both the MTX-4R and the 720 when it comes to the engineering, parts durability and quality. And the RRR evo is superior. The best thing is, when you buy the RRR Evo WC, you dont need anything else on the car. While if you buy either of the 3 remaining cars, there are still some hopups that have to be kept in mind to be competitive.

To be competitive? Not so much pal. Unless you consider springs hop ups.. The only thing it needed was CVD's and the new car comes with that.. My NT1 is box stock and it whoops. I don't have any aftermarket parts for it. I just bought different diff oils, shock oils springs and various gears so I could gear my engine to the tracks I run at.. Barrys nats winning car, only aftermarket part was the 4mm chassis..and maybe some clutch parts... or maybe you consider things like servos and an engine aftermarket.. so try again..

The engine mount thats an alternate I don't know of anyone that uses it.. multidiff? not really needed since 90% of the team guys run a spool in the states.. euro guys run diffrent diff oils.. and shock springs...
