Default track style?

having never been to this venue, what sort of layout should be expected?

i recall a 1/8 national a few years ago that was described as:
open, fast, high traction.

is this the usual style of layout or ?

Why so fast? I looked at the lap times and layout from your last race and the times were really fast, 14 or 15 seconds. You have quality space available why not slow the cars down and use the space as much as you can? It's not all about the horsepower with a lot of straights and sweepers. Let the track be fast but also let it separate the driver’s ability so the drivers have to drive their cars, not point and shoot. Why are you running the same track you have raced on for the last two races? Does your locals need this kind of advantage? I think the layout should be changed for this race? There are a lot of racers traveling to this race so just keep it fair, change the layout. The bottom line is your not going to separate the top 20 guys no matter what layout you run, but the rest of the field with a fast track could get ugly and not shoe the potential of each drivers ability.

Jason, thank you again for the info. I apologize in advance if i have opened a can of worms. that was inadvertant. This is a RAMS race, and whatever style is the conventional style of a RAMS race then so be it. If someone wants some other style, then it would no longer be a RAMS race would it?

the lay out that has been run is a version of the rc pro series layout

it was done to make it car friendly and easy to setup , as for running the

same lay out more than once , we wanted to find one that meet the above

as for a advantage , what about crystal park , hamilton, toledo, 301, frt

myers, ect. ect. and so on.

Alot of things play into our design and running it a couple of races in a row. For one it has to be a good track for 1/8 & 1/10. We made changes to the track both times and will make a couple of more changes come race weekend. As far as advantage goes, there isn't one. How many places have you run with permanent track? Do you not go because the locals have an advantage. No, you go to have fun and race. We were fine tuning this track to be safe and flowing, yet fun for both classes. We don't want to just throw something together the day of the race and hope it works. There are alot of people coming from out of town and want them to have the best time possible.
