Ball Driver OR Allen Key Driver?

hi guys,

i picked up a new car kit, and want some quality hudy tools to put it together.

i need 1.5mm, 2.0mm, 2.5mm, 3.0mm, 7mm nut driver (for wheel) and a phillips and flat head.

should i get ball drivers or allen keys?

Get the allen key type. You only need a ball end if you have a nitro car as it is used to get to the motor mount screws out everything else is allen key type.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

saint is exactly right if your building a nitro car you actually need both ball end and hex if your building a nitro car you should get all the tools you said as well a 2.0mm and 2.5mm ball end also get yourself a hudy glow plug wrench, it has the hex head on it to the pivotball caps;)

Just to get you started. I will only get the hex head drivers. The ballend is nice but you only use those in key spots. I would get just the hex drivers I have a touring car and I have NEVER had a case where I needed a ball-end driver.
Save the ball end drivers for later.

start off with the regular hex end. Eventually as you work on the car you'll find out which applications require a ball end. I would get the 2.5 ball end for removing the engine from the engine mount so you dont have to keep setting the mesh everytime. And for those screws you really have to tighten down try to avoid using the ball cause they are a little weaker than the regular hex.

OK, if its a Mugen, xray or serpent 1/10 200mm car. Tools as follows..

hudy tools:

107581 glow plug wrench (also used for pivot balls caps, and flywheel nut)
111540 1.5mm allen driver
112040 2.0mm allen driver
132540 2.5mm ball allen driver
113040 3.0mm allen driver

I have had the same hudy tools for about 7 years. broken one, and thats it.. and it was a 1.5 so thats kinda expected...

Those should do you for most of the nitro cars.. if you feel the need you can get a 2.5 std allen, for the bolt that goes through the pilot shaft.. and engine mts..

cheers,

Patrick
