I know gansie posted where he was getting 3-4 min. on the 4200nimh.

Both nitro and electric are fun depending on track size.
MY E4(EP) Best Lap in the Track is 17.7 sec.

and My G4RS(GP) Best Lap in the Track is 16.6 sec

i have raced it all electric touring nitro touring 1/8th scale onroad and let me tell you what i will line my eighth scale evolva against any electric on the track and my eighth scale will be way faster i also dont like the fact that you race for five minutes and then take a break to charge batteries but electric does have some plusses its cleaner and you can get togeather withh a couple of buddies and race late at night am i saying nitro is better? no but i am saying i like it better and thats just my oppinion

Exclamation electric vs nitro

I guess I don't like Electric because the only electric car I have is a Traxxas Rustler don't get me wrong but I wish I had a better one. But Nitro is fast without up-grades, and electric is slow without the upgrades. So if you don't have any upgrades then Nitro. I would like Electric better if the batteries didn't die after only five minutes, and that is another thing why Nitro is better (FOR NOW IN THE YEAR 2008) because a longer run time. I don't know about you but I don't like to wait in between runs for a battery to charge. A Nitro the only thing you have to do is gas it up and go!

Ohh Thanks To Everyone This Thread Is Staying On The First Page, And Try To Keep It This Way By Posting Every Chance You Get!

When I got into this 1700 were the legal battery. With all the props/paraphernalia, maintenance…. and then a third of them dumping and not finishing the race… I wanted no parts of them!

Now with the batteries today and the low maintenance motors….

Even though I prefer nitro, I can’t argue with the computer. Locally electrics (of the same class) have always turned faster lap times.

One of the big pluses of LiPo’s is…. These nonsense threads almost completely died off as the electric guys have been fighting amongst themselves. ..... almost

You must be new to rc racing. For the last 20+ years, 2WD electric mod buggy has been the most difficult and prestigious class, which separates the men from the nitro huffers.

I signed up for a membership at a nitro offroad track last year to try out my 1/8 BL + LiPo buggy and the nitro guys had no problem with me running it on their track until I beat them three weekends in a row. Sore Losers!

Well

I like EP Touring cars better than GP..

Nitro cars might go faster, might have a great sound, and might have a longer run time.. but what do you need that for ?!

EP 1:10 scale cars, have diffenatly more setup possibilitys, than a GP 1:10/8 car has. I just think a 1:10 EP car handle much more like a real sedan touring car.. and thats my point - thats why i better like elektric cars. Why have high speed, if you dosn't feel "IT" ? And dosn't have all the real handling?
And well.. brushless touring cars also have the speed, so that is'nt any issue at all !

Just my point of view

Electric is faster all around. Accelerations and Top Speed. Nitro lack torque, and high RPM when compared to electric motors.

The evil in electric is that batteries were limited. Today, you can cram a 6000mah battery into car and that is way more than you willl ever need for 8-min of racing. LiPO's are just starting to find out how much capacity will be available. Expect the capacity of the lipo "Brick" packs to Jump 500 every 3 months. 5000 today, 5500 by April, 6000 by August, 7000 by New Years day.

Some perdict the limits of the LiPo's to be 2x 3x greater than what we have today. Others are predicting 10X increase in capacity.
