Default New to forum!

Not new to RC, nitro or to forums in general. Just new to this one.

Well, I live in the Chicago IL area, and I am a radical from the RC Car Action forums. (it used to be a great place... nowadays nothing happens over there.) All I own is a HPI RS4 2 that I bought when I was just 14. Since then, the car passes through 4 engine transplants, 3 fuel tanks, 7 different pipes (There was a time when I manufactured my own tuned pipes from scrap aluminum beer cans. Good times.) countless set of tires (specially after her last transplant) many bodies, but still maintains the stock exhaust manifold (which leaks sometimes, but works) shocks, chassis and higher chassis shelf.

Today she is going through a nice cleanup to get rid of all the dirt and grease and gummed up fuel on the chassis, and I will change the shock oil and certain chassis components. She's almost ready to be reassembled. Got her a new set of softer rubber tires as a winter gift.

On it's current configuration, she has a new O.S. .18CVR, ported a little bit, which works way too well for the little car. A new HPI RS4 plastic tuned pipe (I broke the tip of my metallic tuned pipe, needed to find a good replacement. 10 bucks, plus she's more docile on the track now.) 2 speed tranny (spotless and running like a clock). She wears a 235mm. Serpent BMW body with enclosed wheel wells. (Yes, I thought that 235mm would fit. Guess what? It won't. But it looks cool and it works very well.) I raced her for the first time last year, and that became the fastest body that I could use, lowering significantly my lap times. I blame it on aerodynamics, but it could be just that the body is more slippery then any other that I have. When I race I race amateur at the local hobby shops, usually competing outlaw with a totally different class (1/8, mod electrics, etc...)

I thank you members, mods and administrators, for allowing me on this website which has a fantastic layout and looks like it has a fantastic and very active community too! Thank you very much! (If I posted this thread in the wrong section, feel free to move it/delete it!)

Andre

Thanks for the welcome dan!

8lackflagracing, it worked well for a while. Some tuned pipes still work, but some where destroyed by the heat and fuel since the adhesive that I used on those wasn't too strong. Today I just make braces to support the tuned pipes by a mixture of aluminum panels and a fibrous epoxi compound. Works well.
