Default Price of Aluminum

$170 may seem to some a lot of money, but that chassis looks to be machined from a 1" or thicker piece of solit plate aluminum, which is expensive. There is a lot of waste from machining, but it isn't gonna come apart! I work in the aerospace industry and see many 6" thick and greater pieces reduced to wall thicknesses of .080" in pockets on bulkheads...lots of waste material to produce a very light yet strong part. Good work on that Chassis !!!

Sorry for the slow response, been at the track all day, managed a 2nd in the A main, but Jason Breiner, the designer of The Chassis cleaned my clock and finished 4 laps ahead of the field and set a track record (again)! You could probably figure out a way to use a hump pack but the Chassis is designed for a flat pack.

Yeah, he was, but that's not the only reason he kicked a$$, he's just an animal on the track, nobody really had a chance!

Hey guys got the chassis of Jims today. Very sweet top quality!. I think this chassis will take the car to a new level! If it drives like it looks it's diffently a winner and a must for you NTC3 racers. For the price it's well worth worth it!! BB

Bob, thanks for nice words about the Chassis and your input on the design, glad to hear Jason can hook you up with the parts you need.

Harry, your Fixes are in the mail! Thanks, Jim

Jim,
I don't know if you've gotten this far in testing, but have you tried transponders on the chassis yet? I remember reading in my instructions, that metal will hinder the signal. any probs for the chassis?

So far no problems with AMB transponders, counts every lap. We'll know for sure about personal transponders next week when Bob finishes his installation, looks like racing's gonna be rained out again here tomorrow. I'll post when I know. I don't think you'd have any problem unless you have metal to metal vibration generating RF signals. That's more likely to come from your brake or throttle linkage on the car than anything else.
