Default Crystal Park Shutting Down?

I've heard that CP is shutting down. Does anyone know anything else? I hope its not true, I hate to see another SoCal track close.

If so, perhaps some of the manufacturers could get involve and help keep the track operating.

I heard they kicked out all the 5th scale racers after they (5th scale racers) helped build the track.

Default CrystalPark

I also heard it was being closed down, but for other reasons.
Opened up the computer, and had a couple of P/Ms, and e-mails, that the track IS being closed down.

If it is the city that is shutting the facility down, then it should be effective the day the notice is served.

Does enybody know the reason its getting closed down? If rent is an issue, maybe we can the manufacturers to pitch in. We have Kyosho, Mugen, Ofna, what others?

I was really looking foraward to the Benefit race, and TFT, and just club racing in general. There must be something we can do!

Default Crystal Park

There could, and may be many issues as to why if it is fact the city closing the track.
If Crystal Pak Casino approved the location of the track, does not mean it meets city approval, for zoning, maybe permits, electrical violations, heath code violations<one porta poty for that many people does not meet health codes>city liscense,it could be many reasons, or even just one reason, and the city could close it.
It could be the fire dept. in Compton that is involved also.
Right now every one is just guessing as to why if in fact it is the city that is invloved.
It even could be something between the track, and the casino itself.
Unfourtunatley, there are many depts. in the cities that have to be dealt with
when a business is opened, and issuses, zonings, and citiy approvals can and do change on a reqular basis.
But if it is true, boy does it SUCK

Default crystal park.

Crystal park raceway has to build a restroom, that is the reason we are slowing the pace inorder to get the green lite to build a restroom.

we already have site plans & building plans & lots of paperwork for the prodject
with the new building going on accross the street with home depot best buy, target
now the city wants us to build the rest room
no more mobil tolits.

we have not been served notice , we are working with the city to get the rest room done to improve our area

the city likes what we are doing. they are working with us,and there are things we need to use while building right next door, so it makes sence to get it done now, in order to save building cost. per city
they are giving us alot of help, we also have people stepping up big time to help with the building cost.
so the process has started.

if you look on the website, there has been info on building the rest room
sence the beginning of the web site,

if anyone is instrested in helping with the cost of the rest room
go to crystalparkrcraceway.com
info is on the flyer.

we can still do toys 4 tots on dec 1 & 2
we will keep you posted on all info and progress.

starting 11/12/07 crystal park not open to the public.
crystal park .membership only.....must show membership card.
members must email practice request in advance.

Thank you for your support during this building phase.

crystal park raceway, will remain a private club not open to the public until restroom project is complete.

any questions email : [email protected]

thanks Vann & James

Good news. Thanks for sheding some light on the subject. Can we sign up for memebership at the track? And how much. This will only improve the track, so in the end it ends up being good news.
