Default Looking for R/C Fans in Albuquerque N.M.

Hello everyone

I'm looking for other Nitro R/C Folks in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
There does not seem to be much of anything going on in this town
as far as R/C is concerned. Heck the largest LHS just shut down, leaving only
1 shop I know of left. When I asked one of the guys at the only remaining shop about an R/C club in town yesterday, he just kind of shrugged his shoulders and
mumbled something about a tract on the other side of town.
Come on folks, this is a fairly large town!!!!
If anyone is interested in meeting and looking into maybe starting a local R/C
Club PLEASE PM me.

Default Track in ABQ

What are you talking about Jeff? One of the best track in the country is in ABQ. The ROAR Nats have been there twice. This year in fact. There is a great LHS in ABQ, and about to be a second one. What is it you want to race?

Outwest Hobbies closed this month. Which Hobby shop are you talking about?
If it's big boy toys, well, they always seem kind of "to busy". I'm not really looking to race, just would like to find out where other R/C enthusiasts meet or hang out. Maybe help some of us newer guys out. I just built me this nice Savy over the past few months, but am having real trouble with engines. (I'm on my 4th one) Correct tuning is something I just don't get via written instructions. I need to be shown. Just put in an LRP 28 spec3. Tried to break it in yesterday, and in the process tore up my fingers and broke the pull starter. With not knowing anyone I went back to the LHS, part of my problem is having a good pipe, and they tried to sell me a truggy pipe that probably wouldn't fit. When I didn't buy it (didn't want to waste over $50) the guy just kind of started to ignore me, not that he was busy, he had no other customers. And, I only talked to him for all of 5 minutes. Like I said just looking to find out where I can get a helping hand. I think trying to ask questions at the races wouldn't work, those guys are kind of busy trying to win races.

Dude, actually ABQ is one of the most rockin' places to be for R/C, believe me I've been scouting all over the country for someplace to move where my wife can do what she loves and I can participate more actively in R/C. Besides being a great place to live for lots of other reasons, ABQ actually has three tracks these days. There's both an established 1/10 scale track and a new 1/8 scale track outdoors at ARCOR in Tom Tenorino (sp?) park, and there's an RCRIOT crew of folks who roll out a carpet track indoors as well.
