Did you do anything to lighten your car? My car weighs in at 2600 grams.

Yes I did the ti pillow balls all the way around and ybslow ti midshaft along with a life receiver pack made my car way under weight!!!! But the car out of the box with gear installed was right at the 2552 limit. The m3 is the lightest 8 scale car out of the box it was much lighter than my mrx4x and 966. You also can try ti upper screws they will also drop your weight down. I tried them but didn't like them because there made with a softer material and the stip way to easy so I took them out. Life battery are just as light as there lipo counterparts but are much more safe and life battery don't require you to use a voltage regulator. I hope this helps

Kyosho don't make one for the M3. Maybe some other brand does but I have never seen one.

No way. If I am going to say money, I would get the M3 Evo upgraded kit:

http://www.rc-toro.com/product_info....fe600644653c87

And then pick up an used Evolva

I noticed that too. I'm thinking the race register program doesn't have M3 as an option to choose from. Pretty sure they won't be running the old Evolva 2005.

Who knows, maybe he wants a whole new car, not the upgrade kit.

:
No, I believe Collari did infact win the last Worlds with an "old school" Evolva. I figure he's got that model dialed in setup and crewpit wise. He has a winning formula so as the age old adage goes "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

No, that is not correct. He used the M3 Evo with a few modifications. This is a pic of his car at the 2009 Worlds.

The 2005 evolva was and still is a great car, however the m3 evo is faster than the 2005, and the m3. I can explain it but the m3 evo just has more overall on&off power steering and is just dialed in. Out of the box. Plus the inner gear ratio gives the car more rip everywhere. If you have the m3 go out and by the converstion and you will see. I think it is the best handleing 8 scale car on the market. Some car may come with more hopups out of the box but they are not as fast. The kyosho has the best internal gear ratio of all the 8 scale cars.

I take it all back. I thought the IFMAR Worlds report had stated that Collari was using the Older Evolva. I must have missread it somehow.
