Default 4 stroke conversions? All Hype?

Whats the big deal with 4 stroke conversions. I have two friends that are allways looking for Kyosho 4 Stroke conversion kits. I know they are expensive kits but at the prices that Kyosho tries to charge for them there must be some kind of magic in them.
I only have a Spada so im kinda new to the whole Nitro thing. I know what a 4 stroke is but i cant see the conversion kit being worth all that much money. Maybe my friends are just a little weird and like different stuff than most people, nothing wrong with that, just wondering why the huge price.
Thanks

Thanks for the theard link,im guessing my friends are a little wierd. Which is good as im pretty wierd also. One of my friends is all about Super Tens and the other wants to put a 4 stroke in a Fanthom. So you might have guessed where my Fanthom parts stock pile went.
I have seen a 4 stroke in a V-one rrr and it seems quick enough, but when i see the prices of parts bag full of parts im just a little surprised.

I read that 4 strokes have good torque, good fuel economy, and last longer. If geared correctly, they can hang with many .12 engines. However, i also read that they don't light a candle to a high end .18 os engine either. I have no experienced with 4 strokes so i could be wrong.
